figs

Figs are one of the most delicious & moist fruits. It can only be eaten completely ripe, and is full of nutrients. A Fig is full of energy, sugar, calcium & phosphorus. Even when dried, they maintain the nutrients without loosing any of them.

Figs also contain iron, magnesium, vitamins A, B & C, folic acid, zinc, sodium & potassium.
Figs are also considered a good medicament for constipation, because they are full of fibers.
They also lessen the acids in the stomach, and thus are great for pregnant women.

I love figs, we used have a big fig tree in Lebanon before we came to Australia, and I remember all the neighbours coming every morning when it was in season to have some. So dad decided to plant one here, every time he comes over he brings me some, it just finished producing.

Hi Lebanese. I have lived in Australia my whole life and always wondered why we had a fig tree in our backyard. It was ok, but I was never really that excited about them. It was not until I went to Lebanon for a holiday for the first time that I realised how it was such a part of my parents childhood. Not only did I get hooked on them in Lebanon (as it is famous from the village I come from, I also could not get over the fact that it tasted SO MUCH better than the figs in Australia!

Thanks.
