Tribute to Michael Jackson at BET Awards 2009

Yesterday night, the 2009 BET awards paid tribute to the king of pop, Michael Jackson.
The whole event was re-organized to fit the sad turn of events and remember the music genius.

]]> Jamie Foxx, the host of the event, and other stars took the opportunity, not to mourn the loss of the star, but to celebrate his life and his music that brought so much happiness to many people throughout the past 40 years of his career.

The surprise of the night, was the appearance of Janet Jackson and her addressing the audience.
She spoke to everyone on behalf of the Jackson family, she was visibly distraught as she said:
"My entire family wanted to be here tonight but it was too painful. To you, Michael is an icon. Janet said. "To us, Michael is family. He will forever live in all of hearts. On behalf of my family and myself, thank you for all of your love, thank you for all of your support. We miss him so much. Thank you so much".

Most of the performances throughout the event were of chart topping songs by Michael Jackson.

I was so busy with the death of Michael Jackson,that I hadn't had a chance to post anything about the death of another iconic actress, one of the original famous Charlie's Angels, Farrah Fawcett.

]]> Farrah Fawcett passed away on Thursday, after a long battle with cancer.
Farrah, who had checked into hospital back in April, had been battling anal cancer for the past three years.
She died at the age of 62, with her long time romantic partner Ryan O'Neal and her friend Alana Stewart at her side.

Chris Brown Sentenced to Community Service

At last the Rihanna vs. Chris brown case had been solved, after months of tabloids, rumors and different stories, Chris brown pledge guilty and had been charged with five years probation, 52 weeks in an anti-domestic program and 180 days of community service.

]]> This is all a result of Chris violently hitting Rihanna for an unknown reason. This issue is a big mystery. I personally lost all respect for Chris Brown no matter what happened between them, to hit a woman in such a way is unacceptable. However many people are attacking Rihanna even though she is clearly the victim here. Although one should not take a side this issue is obviously one sided because there is not certain way one can sympathize with Chris. He hit a woman for God�s sake!

I hope you learnt your lesson Chris, because hitting a woman is never cool!

King of Pop, Michael Jackson, Dies at 50

I grew up with the music of Michael Jackson ... I guess you did too.
I am mortified and shocked that he has passed away ... it just doesn't feel real.

A few months ago there were rumors that Jackson was very sick and that he was about to die ... but this time, unfortunately, it's true.
Michael Jackson passed away yesterday at 2:26 pm after suffering heart failure at his L.A. home.
A 911 call came in at 12:21 pm from his home. When Paramedics got to him after the call, he wasn't breathing. They rushed him to the hospital and couldn't bring him around.
He leaves behind three children.

]]> The irony of the matter is that Michael was scheduled to hold a comeback tour next month; 50 concerts dates that are sold out! This was going to be the first time Michael performs LIVE in a decade!

No one can deny that he was an icon, a music legend. His album 'Thriller' is the biggest selling album in history!

I'm still trying to wrap my head around the fact that Michael Jackson is no more ... when you die, you die ...

Rest in Peace ... you will be hugely missed ...

Paris Hilton from Dubai to Beirut!

Paris Hilton seems to be having a whole lot of fun in sunny Dubai!
While she's shooting her new show My BFF in Dubai, she found time to enjoy Skiing at Ski Dubai and took a camel ride through the desert.
Paris took a special liking to the camel and posed with it!
I wonder if the camel took a liking to Paris or not?!

]]> Rumor has it that Paris' trip to The Middle East wont end in Dubai, but that she's planning to head over to Lebanon and attend a huge event at the Forum De Beyrouth.
It seems the event has been organized by The Crystal Group - the same people behind Paris' appearance at Neo Club Quantum in Crowne Plaza this Thursday.

Today, June 20th, is World Refugee Day.
Today we should remember those unfortunate people who have lost their homes and their countries to become fragile wanderers hoping to find stability and security one day.
Today, we should thank the heaves for the blessings we've got.

]]> Angelina Jolie, who is a Goodwill Ambassador for the UN Refugee Agency, celebrated World Refugee Day in an event held in Washington D.C. on Thursday.
During the event, Jolie along with the rest of the audience, was visibly moved as they heard first hand stories from refugees who have been relocated to the US.

Jolie is always emotional when it comes to refugees, she choked up as she said of the refugees: "Most of all they are survivors ... They are the most impressive people I have ever met".

Not only does Jolie speak in the name of refugees, she and beau Brad Pitt try to lend a helping hand as well.
The super couple donated $1 million through the Jolie-Pitt Foundation to help displaced people in Pakistan, where more than 2 million people are currently displaced.

The 3rd place went to Shia Labeouf; from being the little kid in Evan Stevens to the hot guy in The Transformers, Shia truly undertook a drastic transformation.

Ante Up For Africa 2009

We LOVE when celebrities do great things for amazing causes.
Ante Up For Africa is a big charity event taking place at the World Series of Poker
this year, and lots of poker-pros wannabes are headed to Vegas to raise
money for charities that provide aid and assistance to the survivors of the
crisis in Darfur, Sudan.

]]> Actor Don Cheadle hosts the event for the second year in a row, and this year he's hoping to up the donations from last year's 2 million dollars.

Matt Damon, Jason Alexander, Charles Barkley, Kenny Smith, Montel Williams, Herschel Walker, Hank Azaria, Brad Garrett, Marlon Wayans, Sarah Silverman and Casey Affleck are all playing poker for a cause this year, and Celebrity Apprentice runner-up, poker pro Annie Duke, will be co-hosting with Don Cheadle.

We hope they raise a ton of cash for this cause!

Robert Pattinson Hit by a Taxi in NY!

The five new bodyguards Robert hired to protect him apparently aren�t doing their job. Whilst filming his new movie �Remember Me�, Robert was chased by a bunch of wild fans as he attempted to run away from them across the street he was hit by a taxi! Ouch!

]]> Take a breath girls, Robert is perfectly fine he doesn�t even have a scratch on him but seriously I really pity him, the guy can�t walk to his trailer without nearly getting killed. Give him a break girls ,no matter how hard you scream or how fast you run he still won�t notice you ,he will just run away from you!
