Iranian actress Golshifteh Farahani starred with Leonardo DiCaprio in his latest movie 'Body of Lies' and for that she has been punished by the Iranian government!
Farahani has been barred from leaving Iran and it was a surprised for her; she planned to travel to Hollywood to discuss a potential new film and that was when the discovered that she isn't allowed to leave the country!
IRNA said Iranian movie stars must obtain permission from the Culture Ministry before appearing in foreign movies.
Well, i guess that's the end of her dream to become a Hollywood star!

What started out as a happy event ended in a sour note for Hayden Panettiere when her father, Alan, was arrested early Monday morning for domestic violence. It seems Alan Panettiere is one of those men who cannot control their anger when he struck his wife’s face, twice with a closed fist. According to the statement made by the police who conducted the investigation the couple had an argument and Mr. Panettiere became upset which resulted in him hitting his wife. Mrs. Lesley Panettiere called the police before 3 a.m. and Mr. Panettiere was arrested.

Cher has decided to sell her Malibu home, which is breathtaking by the way, for a whopping 45 million bucks!
It maybe a lot, but the house isn't a normal one ... it's not gigantic either; it's super gigantic!
The Italian Renaissance-style villa is made up of three stories, six bedrooms, seven bathrooms, a theater, a gym and multiple verandas.
On the 1.7 acres of property that surround the villa, there is a tennis court, a pool and a guest house.
It sure is a huge estate and it's fantastically stunning.
If you had the money, would you buy it? I wouldn't, simply because it's too huge, I'm more of a smaller kinda' property gal.

From the start, British rock band Coldplay has never suffered a cold season. Every time the band releases an album, it seems to be a great hit! The band’s fourth and latest album Viva La Vida is garnering recognition around the globe by being named as the No. 1 in The Billboard 200 Album Chart! In the first week of its release, over 720,000 copies were sold out. This sales record is spectacular. Viva La Vida’s sales record follows that of X&Y back in 2005 which also became number one with 737,000 copies sold in the first week.

Yesterday, a huge fire ate up a whole lot of Universal Studios movie sets and left them in ashes!
Two of the most famous sets were severely effected; the King Kong set (of which three quarters were lost) and the New York set (which has been totally destroyed)!
The New York set was used for several famous movies and TV series like Spiderman 2, The Transformers, Ghost Whisperer, and Crossing Jordan.
Lots of facades were also burned up! Usually, facades are made of heavy timber and that tends to catch fire quickly and burn freely.
The cause of the fire hasn't been determined yet and the investigation is on the roll!
What a shame! Back in 1986, i visited Universal Studios and i was awe-stricken!
The King Kong set was fabulous and the Jaw's tour was scary! I hope they can retrieve some of the things and build back those timeless sets that are part of the Hollywood history.

Legendary director Sydney Pollack passed away yesterday at the age of 73.
Pollack had been suffering from cancer for some time now and he just lost the battle.
He died at his home in Pacific Palisades and was surrounded by his family.

George Clooney spoke out about Pollack's death and said in a statement today:
"Sydney made the world a little better, movies a little better and even dinner a little better.
A tip of the hat to a class act. He'll be missed terribly."

Clooney worked with Pollack recently on Michael Clayton and on Leatherheads.

I only got the chance to watch the two-hour movie 'Knight Rider' yesterday and I gotta admit it's fantabulous! It blew my friends and i away!
When i wrote about the remake a few months ago, i was in doubt it would get any ratings at all! But turns out i was so wrong! Glad to have been wrong!
Knight rider is an icon, i was a kid in the early 80's but i remember watching Michael Knight and KITT in their adventures, although i didn't understand a thing of what was happening then!
So, when i watched the two-hour movie i was so happy!
Choosing Justin Bruening as Mike Traceur is perfect! He's got the same build as David Hasselhoff -a bit shorter- and even looks kinda' like him sometimes, minus the curly hair!
As for the new KITT, which is Knight Industries Three Thousand, not Two Thousand anymore ... well, Ford Mustang ... enough said!
This Mustang is the coolest, sassiest car you've ever seen! It has a supercomputer capable of hacking almost any system; it has a sophisticated weapons system and its body is capable of Repairing itself and shifting shape and color, thanks to nanotechnology!
Oh! And guess who's the voice of this hot, talking car? Val Kilmer! He might not be such a successful actor, but his voice is just right for this car!

You are just like me ... waiting for the writers' strike to end ... not for any other reason but for our favorite series like Lost and Prison Break to continue in their normal pace!
Oh! And personally, i was afraid that there won't be an Oscar event like every year!
But ... things are looking good at last! News is that after three months, the writers have kinda' reached a deal with the producers. I guess the idea of canceling another red carpet event scared those Hollywood producers, no?
The strike ended when Hollywood producers agreed to give striking writers a piece of the profit that their work might make over the Internet! which means they'll get paid for the online use of TV shows and movies ... Good deal, ha?
It's true, the writers might not have gotten all they asked for, but they did show the world that they're strong and that their union can do something!
So, The Oscars are two weeks away and now the writers can get to writing the jokes that put the atmosphere in the event.
Things can return to normal and the actors can return to the sets of their series and money can start rolling into Hollywood again and the economy won't continue it's deterioration!
Cool, ha?!

Famous photographer Annie Leibovitz has been photographing famous people for the last 35 years! She's the one that snapped that famous photo of John Lennon hours before he was shot and killed! It was published on the cover of Rolling Stone and has since become one of the most famous magazine covers in the world.
Annie also took that photo of Demi Moore, seven months pregnant, wearing nothing but jewelry. It was after that, that pregnant celebrities braved up and started taking nude photos of their bellies!
The latest work of Annie is a series of portraits for Disney. In celebration of "Year of a Million Dreams."
The portraits feature famous celebrities in fairy-tale settings as famous Disney characters.
The portraits include Whoppi Goldberg as The Genie from Aladdin, Jennifer Lopez as Jasmine, Jessica Biel as Pocahontas, Gisele Bundchen as Wendy from Peter Pan and Marc Anthony as Aladdin!

J.J. Abrams latest movie 'Cloverfield' premiered the other night at the Paramount Studios Lot in L.A.
The red carpet was full of young stars, some of which have worked with J.J. and some who are currently working with him on his new movie 'Star Trek'.
Among the stars at the premiere were Zachary Quinto, Heidi Montag, Spencer Pratt, Harold Perrineau, Ashley Tisdale, Ashlee Simpson, Lauren Conrad, Masi Oka, Michelle Trachtenberg and of course the mastermind himself ... J.J. Abrams! Oh! Lindsay Lohan was there too!

What a looser! Even his bail has been revoked!
O.J. Simpson is now heading back to jail where he'll spend the week-end!
His bail was revoked and now he awaits a hearing on Wednesday to see into the matter!
So, why has the bail been revoked? ... Documents allege that O.J. violated his court-approved bail agreement by trying to contact a co-defendant in his case.
I say it again ... What a looser!
