Have you ever wondered how the town got its name? Well, it seems it got it from novelist Edgar Rice Burroughs, creator of the jungle vine-swinging super hero, the ultimate Apeman, Tarzan. Burroughs once owned the area as farmland rich with orange orchards.
It looks like Tarzana has made the quantum leap from apeman to light-being with lively novelist/actor Vanna Bonta sighting there recently.

"My daughter knew right off," said one patron, proudly. "She said that's Vanna Bonta. It's pronounced VAHna, you know." It seems the kids, and especially girls, are smitten with her. "It's Vanna Bonta. She's all girl but geek creative."
Other locals admit they've asked to have their pictures taken with the blonde writer, but admit they sometimes just quietly snap their own souvenirs. "We got her coming and going," said one local.
