Mel and his wife have taken interest in Britney and have been trying to spend time with her and her family since Britney got hospitalized last February.
Britney was first spotted with Mel Gibson last March when they dined together at Romanov, a Russian restaurant in Studio City.
Mel Gibson and his wife were once neighbors with Brit and they were just doing what any good neighbor would, lending a helping hand.

Remember earlier this year when superstar Mel Gibson was arrested for drunk driving? The reason the media went crazy was that the actor and award-winning director addressed the words "Jews are responsible for all the wars in the world” to the police officer who made the arrest.

Well now Braveheart-Gibson is working hard to prove that he is not anti-Semitic as he’s been accused of in the past. His movie “The Passion of the Christ” (2004) received criticism for alleged anti-Semitic imagery and connotations. Gibson has strongly denied that the movie is anti-Semitic, but critics remain divided.
