The 2008 American Music Awards, better known as the AMA's, are only two days away and there are two stars who want to make sure their performances are on the dot!
Christina Aguilera and Rihanna were spotted at the NOKIA theater in Los Angeles on Thursday.
Xtina arrived in black and pink attire to rehearse for her opening act! She's set to kick off the star-studded event on Sunday with a medley of her greatest hits. A little bit of Genie in a Bottle, Fighter, Beautiful, Keeps Getting Better and Dirrty!
As for Riri, she arrived at the theater in simple black and white checkers and skinny jeans!
It seems her performance is going to light up the theater, literally! There will be a bit of fire spewing!

Words are not enough to express the magnitude of the opening ceremony of the Jumaira Palm Beach - Atlantis Resort in Dubai last night!
The exquisite mega-bash was the most expensive one in history maybe, a whopping $32 million was the cost of the whole event! It's like there's no economic crisis in the world, no?
Super stars and celebrities, VIP's and businessmen, millionaires and billionaires were the attendees of this flamboyant event and they had the time of their life!
Organisers of the ceremony claimed that the fireworks display could be seen from space!
Atlantis Resort is one of the most luxurious hotels in the world.
One of the most breathtaking things there is the huge aquarium that houses a whopping 65 thousand fish, some of which are sharks! That's ought to leave you shocked!

This is truly the festival season!
The much acclaimed Berlin International Film Festival is only a couple of months away and planning for it is underway!
Yesterday it was announced that actress Tilda Swinton is going to head the jury panel at the festival which starts on February 5th.
The director of the festival said in a statement: "I'm pleased that the wonderful Tilda Swinton will be our Jury President in 2009. Her commanding screen presence has made an indelible impression in contemporary, innovative film-making".
Tilda is really an exceptional actress and she's won numerous awards and is an active actress in even European movies.
The most recent award she won was at the 2008 Oscars for Best Supporting Actress, for her role in Michael Clayton alongside George Clooney.

Last night I watched the opening ceremony of the 32nd Cairo International Film Festival to see the Hollywood stars who were present there.
Susan Sarandon, Goldie Hawn, Kurt Russell, Julia Ormond, Alicia Silverston, Priscilla Presley and Stuart Townsend were welcomed with warm applause as they stepped on the stage of the historic Cairo Opera House and they were honored as being some of the names who have shaped what movies are today.
The festival, whose honorary president is Omar Al Sharif, has always received famous Hollywood stars. In previous years names like Morgan Freeman, Danny Glover, Sophia Loren, Peter O'Toole, Alain Delon and Catherine Deneuve have been honored at the festival.
There's just one thing that i didn't like, and which i think even those big stars thought to be kinda' corny, was the music! Oh! It was horrible! It was like something out of a really bad horror movie! It was annoying to the limit of it being disturbing!

There's a first time for everything and this year it's the first time the Grammy nominations will be aired LIVE on Primetime TV!
In a huge one-hour LIVE event, considered as the countdown to music's biggest night, the nominations for the annual Grammy awards will take place at the NOKIA Theater in Los Angeles and with the presence and performance of a huge number of huge stars like Mariah Carey, Celine Dion, B.B. King, Taylor Swift, John Mayer and L.L. Cool J.!
The event will also celebrate the grand opening of the GRAMMY MuseumSM. The museum that is dedicated to celebrating music and music makers!
The Grammy Nominations Concert LIVE will air on Wednesday, December 3rd on CBS.
Be sure to tune in, it's going to be a fantabulous night!

It would have been a dream come true for me to be there at the red carpet of the 2008 CMA Awards last night in Nashville!
It was studded with sparkling stars from both music and the movie business.
If i were lucky enough to be there -which i wasn't- i would've loved to say HI to Carrie Underwood, Taylor Swift, Kenny Chesney and Shania Twain! Heck, I'd even ask for an autograph!
Nicole Kidman and hubby Keith Urban looked so cute together! Although i think Nicole should have chose something else to wear! I didn't like her dress all that much.
I have to say, the other gowns the stars wore were breathtaking!
Miley Cyrus' Cavalli dress wasn't what i'd expected though! I didn't like it much, did you?

Last night was a night to remember for Country music lovers and their stars!
There were some great performances and some surprise appearances at the 2008 CMAs in Nashville last night and the list of winners is HUGE!
The biggest winners of the night were Kenny Chesney, he nabbed Entertainer of the year for the third consecutive time and fourth all in all! Wow!
Carrie Underwood took home Female Vocalist of the year, while her co-host Brad Paisley took home Male Vocalist of the year! Congrats!
Legendary George Strait took home two awards; Single of the year and Album of the year and thus becomes the artist with the most CMA Awards in history, with a total of a whopping 22 trophies!

I'm high on events this year! We're two weeks away from the 2008 American Music Awards! Just thought I'd let you know!
The event will be hosted by funny man Jimmy Kimmel at the Nokia Theater in Los Angeles on November 23rd!
Well, Mariah Carey and Rihanna will be performing and so will Coldplay, Leona Lewis, The Jonas Brothers, Taylor Swift, Ne-Yo, Pink, the Pussycat Dolls and New Kids on the Block.
As for some of the stars who will be presenting awards, I know of Paris Hilton, Kate Walsh and that Konvict Akon.
The main question is who will be taking home some awards that night?
The list of nominees is long, but some are up for more than one nod!

The People's Choice Awards are two months away and the voting has started for your favorite stars and favorite shows!
The nominees this year and as huge as ever and there's a new award this year; Your Favorite Star under 35! That should be interesting!
In the movies category, some of the movies nominated this year are Indiana Jones and the kingdom of the crystal skull, The Dark Knight, 27 Dresses, Mamma Mia!, Eagle Eye, Kung Fu Panda and Wall-E!
As for Favorite Movie Cast, it's a difficult choice among those three: The Dark Knight, Sex and The City and Mamma Mia!
There's also Favorite Movie Duo, which brings Heath Ledger his third nod! The vote will be for either Christian Bale & Heath Ledger, Tina Fey & Amy Poehler or Harrison Ford & Shia LaBeouf.

I'm a big fan of country music so you can imagine how excited i am about the biggest night of country music, the night of the annual Country Music Awards on Wednesday, November 12th.
The huge event will be hosted by Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood and will feature LIVE performances from Kenny Chesney, The Eagles, Kid Rock, Kellie Pickler, Sugarland, Taylor Swift and Keith Urban.
Miley Cyrus and her dad and duet partner Billy Ray Cyrus will be there as well to present an award.
As for the stars nominated for awards, George Strait and Sugarland received five nods each, while Jennifer Nettles received six nominations!
Alan Jackson and Brad Paisley scored four nominations each!

In a huge celebration held in Monaco on November 9th and hosted by Michelle Williams and Jesse Metcalfe, the World Music Awards 2008 were a blast and the red carpet of the event was sparkling with stars and celebrities from all over the world!
The show kicked off with a a great performance from Beyonce and other performances from Mariah Carey, Alicia Keys, Akon, Kid Rock, Solange, Anastacia and Leona Lewis among many others!
The big winners of the night, who proved to be the world's best selling artists, were:
- Leona Lewis: World's Best Pop Female Artist. She beat Madonna to this one!
- Kid Rock: Worl'd Best Pop Male Artist. His latest album Rock n' Roll Jesus was and still is a smash hit all over music charts!
- Amy Winehouse: World's Best Pop/Rock Female Artist.
- Kid Rock: World's Best Pop/Rock Male Artist.
- Coldplay: World's Best Rock Act. Their album Viva La Vida or Death and All His Friends, topped music charts all over the world! Kudos!

The most interesting part of most of the awards is the red carpet arrival.
You get to see all your favorite and not so favorite stars in their best attire, all glammed up for the event!

The annual Emmy awards were on a couple of nights ago and i totally missed them!
The question is, did i miss out on anything? Most would reply with a huge 'NO'!
Every year the event is kinda' the same and there's nothing really new.
The important thing to know is who won what and how many!?
Oh! There's another thing, the red carpet arrivals are also interesting, because there's bound to be a few fashion disasters! (I'll be writing about this in the following post!)
So, who were the big winners at the Emmys?
I read that Mad Men and 30 Rock and HBO's John Adams were the biggest winners of the night.
The awards for Best actress and Best actor went to Glenn Close for her role in Damages, while Bryan Cranston was the surprise winner for his role in the new series Breaking Bad.
The Daily Show with Jon Stewart got the award for Best Variety, Music or Comedy Series. Congrats Jon! You deserve it!
The only award that Lost got was for Sound mixing for the episode Meet Kevin Johnson!

Stars gathered in Los Angeles yesterday for a night of rock n' roll and lots of dancing and singing!
Celebrities from Lost, Heroes and Desperate Housewives jammed to the music at a free Netflix LIVE! On Location Concert in L.A.
The opening act for the concert was a band created by TV stars James Denton (Mike Delfino from Desperate Housewives), Greg Grunberg (Officer Parkman from Heroes), Jesse Spencer (Dr. Robert Chase from house) and Bob Guiney (The Bachelor). The band is appropriately named 'Band From TV'.
Other stars who strutted their stuff and sang were Teri Hatcher, Hayden Panettiere, and Hugh Laurie (Dr. House)!
Milo Ventimiglia was there, not to sing, but to photograph his girlfriend Hayden as she participated in the event!
Oh! Lost's Jorge Garcia (AKA Hurley) was there too!
