Will a reality TV show bring the late Whitney Houston’s family together or will it further break them apart? We’ll see about that! But apparently, “The Houston Family Chronicles” is set to air later this year! Lifetime Network has acquired rights to 10-hour long episodes of the Chronicles.
On Friday, May 11, a representative of the Houston family has already confirmed that there will indeed be a reality TV show about the family.
As the title implies, this show will capture the day-by-day lives of the family that the late Diva Whitney left behind. Though the main focus will be on Whitney’s brother Gary Houston and his wife Pat Houston, Whitney’s manager, and their daughter Rayah, other family members will also be featured. Whitney’s mother Cissy Houston, her daughter Bobbi Kristina and cousin Dionne Warwick will also appear in the series.
Cissy Houston has great hopes that the series will be a good exposure for her granddaughter’s talent in singing. She also hopes it will help the whole family in the healing process.
Reality shows aren’t famous for keeping families together so I think the Houston family will have difficulty achieving that goal in “The Houston Family Chronicles.”
What about you, do you think a reality show is a good idea?
