In fact, U.N. has recognized his efforts in this aspect. Last Friday night, he was awarded the Global Citizen of the Year award. The award was handed to him by Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon. The U.N. organization also appointed him as the good will ambassador for the U.N. Office on Drugs and Crime.

Nicolas understands that his role as ambassador is not something that must be taken lightly. He said that his role will be “to shine a spotlight on the need for global justice.”

U.N. executive director of the Office on Drugs and Crime is secure that they have made the right choice in Nicolas.

His new appointment only gives Nicolas more resources for his humanitarian work. He has already donated about $2 million to help former child soldiers.
