There’s yet another marriage down the drain. Rock star Avril Lavigne has finally filed for a divorce from her also-rocker husband Deryck Whibley. After three years of marriage, the two decided that they don’t want to have a happy ending together. Avril filed the papers in a Los Angeles court on the grounds of irreconcilable differences. Stated also in the divorce papers, is Avril’s request for the court to deny Deryck Whibley of spousal support.

24-year-old Avril Lavigne and 29-year-old Deryck Whibley of Sum41 got married back in 2006. The first year was smooth, but after a while both of them started to see things differently. According to some reports, the two of them haven’t been living in the same roof for some time now; however, it was just last month that they announced their separation.

In an entry posted on her website last month, Avril said that she and Deryck “are separating and moving forward on a positive note.”

Deryck Whibley also wrote on his MySpace page that their parting is amicable and that Avril will always hold a special place in his heart.

Ohhh, I feel sad for them. They’ve added to the divorce statistics.
