It’s been more than a month since Paula Abdul quit American idol. There’ve been so many celebrity auditions in the hope of finding someone to fill her shoes. Finally, Fox announced who it’s going to be. Nope, it’s not Victoria Beckham. Ellen DeGeneres will occupy the fourth judge seat on the 9th Season of AI. Ellen has big shoes to fill because let’s face it Paula was the heart of the talent search!

Ellen has signed a five-year deal with Fox network. It seemed that she knew the news for more than two weeks but it was just recently that she got the go-ahead-spread-the-word signal. She’s very excited to be a part of American Idol.

She hopes to be the “people’s point of view.” Although she doesn’t have technical experience in music, she’s a music lover and she’s an avid follower of American Idol. She says she hasn’t missed any episode of the show. But when it comes to judging, Ellen has had her share in this area. Just a few weeks ago she was a guest judge in “So You Think You Can Dance.”
