The Tribeca Film Festival is an event that may be considered in its toddler stage.
However, even if it’s only been in existence since 2002, a lot of celebrities already attend Tribeca. For your information, Tribeca Film Festival was established, by Robert De Niro, to commemorate New York City as a film-making center and to rehabilitate the whole of lower Manhattan after the 9/11 attacks.

The 2009 Tribeca Film Festival is on again. It started last week on April 22nd and will last until May 3rd 2009.

Big names were spotted on the red carpet at the opening night of the Tribeca Film Festival. Some of them are Evan Rachel Wood, Henry Cavil, and Woody Allen. Also among the personalities that are serving a huge role in the Festival is Mary Kate Olsen. She’s serving as a judge to the 85 films that have to be screened. Some might be daunted by this task, but not Mary Kate. In fact she’s very excited about the whole judging thing.

Some of the films that are making noise in the Festival are Whatever Works, Racing Dreams, The Girlfriend Experience, and Outrage. Some other must-see titles include Rudo Y Cursi Easy Virtue, Soul Power, Black Dynamite, and Moon.

If you live in downtown New York you can check out the Free Events of the Festival and also the Tribeca Drive-in, which is a free outdoor screening series at the Word Financial Center Plaza.
