Russell Crowe is the perfect candidate to play characters from a bygone age! He won an Oscar for his role as Maximus in Gladiator 8 years ago and now he's our new Robin Hood!

Russell Crowe has kicked it high into gear and is currently filming his latest movie 'Robin Hood' under the direction of the one and only Ridley Scott.
Crowe has gotten really fit for the role, he's also chopped off his hair! He actually looks exactly the way he did 8 years ago in Gladiator.

Along with Crowe, Cate Blanchett plays Maid Marian and Vanessa Redgrave plays Queen Eleanor of Aquitaine and William Hurt plays William Marshall.

It was reported that Sienna Miller was to play Maid Marian, but because she's too thin, she'd look weird and would make Crowe look weird in the intimate scenes!

So, will Crowe put on a pair of tights for us? I don't really care! He looks good in anything and nothing ... wink wink!
