A remake of the popular 80s film Footloose is in the works. The one chosen to play Kevin Bacon’s role was High School Musical man Zac Efron. But guess what? Zac turned it down in favor of playing a cemetery worker in the film “The Death and Life of Charlie St. Cloud.”

I wonder why Zac chose this instead of Footloose? Hmm, maybe he’s already fed up with musicals after Disney’s HSM.

In this role, Zac will be mourning the death of his brother because he feels his death was his fault.

Filming of “The Death and Life of Charlie St. Cloud” hasn’t begun yet and there’s no word as to when it would start.

Right now Zac is busy promoting his upcoming movie "17 Again" in Europe.
