I hope Amy Winehouse is in a much better frame of mind now after lazing under the sultry sun in St. Lucia. Because if she is, then she won’t find it hard to accept that she has been denied a U.S. Visa, preventing her from performing at next month’s Coachella festival. She was supposed to perform at the event in California, together with The Killer and Sir Paul McCartney.
The ban was due to the charge made on her last week for allegedly assaulting a fan at a London party last September. She can just wave the festival goodbye because there’s no way she can perform in the flesh without a Visa.
Actually, it’s not the first time she was banned from the U.S. You’ll remember, she was also supposed to perform live at the 2008 Grammy Awards; however, since she was attending a drug rehab her manager also couldn’t get a U.S. work visa for her. So, instead, she had to perform live via Satellite from Britain.
Hmm… do you think the Coachella organizers might change their mind and do the same thing?
Amy Winehouse will have to go to court next week for a hearing on the assault case.
