Well Done Hugh Jackman!

I like Hugh Jackman, both as a guy and as an actor, but now i also like him as a show host!
Last night, Hugh did a great job in hosting The 2009 Oscars and he proved that he's even more than just The Sexiest Man Alive, but he's got a hidden talent for singing and dancing! in addition to acting of course ...

Hugh looked dashing in a bow-tie and tux and kicked off the award ceremony with a mild joke about how the nominees are chosen.
It's funny that Kate Winslet, who's an English woman playing a German one in 'The Reader' and Robert Downey Jr., who's an American, playing an Australian, playing an African American in 'Tropic Thunder' get nominated for an Oscar, while he, Hugh, who's an Australian, playing an Australian in a movie entitled 'Australia' doesn't! He's just hosting the show! That was funny!

Hugh was fantastic in the opening number, which was a song and dance with the lyrics derived from all the movies nominated for an Oscar. Funny song!
He also proved that he's as smart as can be in a musical fit for Broadway, with Beyonce and High School Musical lovebirds Vanessa Hudgens and Zac Efron by his side sharing the spotlight!

Hugh Jackman did a GREAT job . Wasn't it refreeshing seeing a host who actually had the talent Hollywood is suppoed to be about? He sings, he dances, he acts. He's the real things!

Yeah he was good but I wish he didn't do that lap dance for Baba Walters interview after. That was like her power trip and he didn't need to audition anymo.

Um...Hugh has a "hidden" talent for singing and dancing??? The man STARRED on a Broadway in The Boy from Oz where he never stopped singing and dancing. He starred in a London revival of Oklahoma and took Boy from Oz back to Australia. He's hosted the Tony Awards twice. His singing and dancing talents weren't hidden at all.

You know he was in all the musicals and I didn't know it either...embarassed to say. I wish more musicals and great stuff were in the pop mainstream with the trash! :) He is great and I always thought of him as a silver screen actor because I don't follow musicals. :(( I should more. But I wish musicals were more in the mainstream. One reason I love this blog is it covers more than the trash.
