Zach Braff has been the star of Scrubs for the past eight years, but the upcoming season will be his last!
Braff is anxious to change lanes...

Zach Braff is excited to change his position from in front of the camera to behind the camera! He wants to pursue a career in directing!
He says: "I think eight years is a great run. I'm very thankful for it but there are so many other things I'd like to do in my career and I think it's time to move on."

This won't be the first time Braff gets behind the camera, he directed the 2004 movie 'Garden State'.
Braff says: "I'd like to direct more films and you can't do both. It's hard to be the lead in a TV show and also try to direct movies."

Would Scrubs be the same without Dr. John Dorian?
