Trace Adkins Sings about The Course of Life

I wrote about Trace Adkins' song 'You're Gonna Miss This' a few days ago and the perfect complement to that song is another one called 'Then They Do'.

trace adkins then they do

In 'Then They Do', Trace sings about different everyday moments that we all pass through.
Moments that especially parents experience and sometimes get fed up of!
Sometimes you wish the kids would grow up fast so you don't have to deal with their shouting and screaming and fighting together!
When they do grow up, you start seeing less and less of them with each passing year!
At a certain point, when they become young men and women, you still can't help but see them as your babies!

Then, they're old enough to get married, leave the house and start their own families!
What's left? You and your partner together, in a quiet home, no more shouting and screaming ... no more Monday PTA's, no carpools, or soccer games.

The lyrics go on to say:
Then they do, and that's how it is.
It's just quiet in the mornin',
Can't believe how much you miss,
All they do and all they did.
You want all the dreams they dreamed of to come true:
Then they do.

Watch the music video of Then They Do here. Try to listen to the words, they're really good!

Trace sings this and reflects his own experience in the song.
You can tell he sings it from the heart.
There's even a mentioning of his own daughter in the lyrics! The song says:
Now the youngest is starting college,
She'll be leavin' in the Fall.
And Brianna's latest boyfriend,
Called to ask if we could talk.

Brianna is Trace's fourth daughter, who's 7 years old.
Trace has 4 other daughter, Tarah, Sarah, Mackenzie and Trinity.
