Hollywood Stars and Horrible Music at Cairo International Film Festival

stars ciff

Last night I watched the opening ceremony of the 32nd Cairo International Film Festival to see the Hollywood stars who were present there.
Susan Sarandon, Goldie Hawn, Kurt Russell, Julia Ormond, Alicia Silverston, Priscilla Presley and Stuart Townsend were welcomed with warm applause as they stepped on the stage of the historic Cairo Opera House and they were honored as being some of the names who have shaped what movies are today.
The festival, whose honorary president is Omar Al Sharif, has always received famous Hollywood stars. In previous years names like Morgan Freeman, Danny Glover, Sophia Loren, Peter O'Toole, Alain Delon and Catherine Deneuve have been honored at the festival.
There's just one thing that i didn't like, and which i think even those big stars thought to be kinda' corny, was the music! Oh! It was horrible! It was like something out of a really bad horror movie! It was annoying to the limit of it being disturbing!

If you think I'm exaggerating, check out this video of the final minutes of the opening ceremony and listen to the music!
At 1:06 into the video, the horror begins and it's like something out of a cheap horror movie/ historic epic!
The again at 2:14 minutes more! It's annoying for me and I'm just a viewer at home, i wonder what it was like for the people there!
