I'm high on events this year! We're two weeks away from the 2008 American Music Awards! Just thought I'd let you know!
The event will be hosted by funny man Jimmy Kimmel at the Nokia Theater in Los Angeles on November 23rd!
Well, Mariah Carey and Rihanna will be performing and so will Coldplay, Leona Lewis, The Jonas Brothers, Taylor Swift, Ne-Yo, Pink, the Pussycat Dolls and New Kids on the Block.
As for some of the stars who will be presenting awards, I know of Paris Hilton, Kate Walsh and that Konvict Akon.
The main question is who will be taking home some awards that night?
The list of nominees is long, but some are up for more than one nod!

Alicia Keys leads with five nods, while Coldplay and The Eagles are up for four each.
Lil' Wayne and Chris Brown are up for three awards each and funny enough, all five are up for Artist of the Year honors, which is the night's biggest award! It's gonna be a bloody fight!

Garth Brooks and Mary J. Blige are up for two each and so is Mariah Carey!
Reba McEntire is up for Favorite Female Artist - Country Music, while Brad Paisley and Kenny Chesney butt heads with Brooks for Favorite Male Artist in the same category. Ouch!

As for Breakthrough Artist this year, Colbie Caillat, Flo Rida, Jonas Brothers, Paramore and The Dream are up for this serious awards!

It's going to be heated competition and the nominees are all giants in their field!
