In a huge celebration held in Monaco on November 9th and hosted by Michelle Williams and Jesse Metcalfe, the World Music Awards 2008 were a blast and the red carpet of the event was sparkling with stars and celebrities from all over the world!
The show kicked off with a a great performance from Beyonce and other performances from Mariah Carey, Alicia Keys, Akon, Kid Rock, Solange, Anastacia and Leona Lewis among many others!
The big winners of the night, who proved to be the world's best selling artists, were:
- Leona Lewis: World's Best Pop Female Artist. She beat Madonna to this one!
- Kid Rock: Worl'd Best Pop Male Artist. His latest album Rock n' Roll Jesus was and still is a smash hit all over music charts!
- Amy Winehouse: World's Best Pop/Rock Female Artist.
- Kid Rock: World's Best Pop/Rock Male Artist.
- Coldplay: World's Best Rock Act. Their album Viva La Vida or Death and All His Friends, topped music charts all over the world! Kudos!

Ringo Starr was the special honoree of the Diamond Award, an awards given to those who have sold more than 100 million albums during their career.
Mariah Carey took home the award for Special Achievement.
Beyonce took home an award for Outstanding Contribution to the Arts.
And Coldplay took home the award for World's Best Selling Recording Act!
