Madonna wanted to adopt another child, a girl named Mercy from Malawi ... yes again! and from Malawi again! Although she faced lots of trouble because of different adoption rules when she adopted baby David! Go figure!
Well, to make a long story short, she won't be adopting anytime soon!
Why? Because of her divorce from Guy Richie!
It seems part of her troubles with Guy were becasue of this second adoption and now that they're getting a divorce, there won't be any adoption anymore! How ironic!

Malawian official Penston Kilembe says this divorce means the adoption cannot be approved: "One fundamental condition in scrutinizing adoptions is the connectedness of a family. We can’t approve a child to go into a broken family because the divorce could be the result of the behavior of the party trying to adopt. Madonna should forget this one."
Ouch!

Oh! this comes to the advantage of the little girl's extended family, because they were totally against her being adopted from outside Malawi! They wanted her to be adopted into a Malawian family ... and so it shall be!
