Nothing moved Dark Knight from it's top rank in the box office a couple of weeks ago, but it seems Tropic Thunder will do just that and will be a huge smash hit!
In its first day, Tropic Thunder grossed $6.5 million and that's a lot! this means, it will bring in a lot more this weekend.
Tropic Thunder sparked a boycott call from advocates for the developmentally disabled,
but being a war story in a comedy frame, it will handle a lot of controversial issues and the R word is one of them!
and because of this groups including the Special Olympics and the Down Syndrome Assn. of Los Angeles say the character and dialogue abundant use of the word 'retard' are offensive and sure to fuel schoolyard taunting!
Never the less, it seems this will help with the ticket sales!
I'm sure the Stiller-Black combination will be a blast! And seeing Robert Downey Jr. as an Australian actor obsessed with being black is sure to draw tears from our eyes!

I just saw the movie, and it made me laugh hard. In fact, I can't remember the last time I heard the entire theater laugh as hard as they did during this film. Robert Downey Jr. is brilliant - so is Jack Black - great film, very funny. I really don't see what the big deal is about the "r" word controversy. It really didn't seem overly offensive at all. Anyway, I would highly recommend it for some good "laugh out loud" comedy.
