Heath Ledger’s performance in The Dark Knight received different opinions, some asking for an Oscar and others saying that his performance was good, but not Oscar material.
But, there's one journalist, who decided to attack Heath and was a tad bit too harsh maybe on the late actor's personal life too!
Here's what Eric P. Lucas, a writer in Los Angeles Times, had to say:
"He’s just a pretty good actor who did away with himself and broke the hearts of his family and friends, and he shouldn’t get an Academy Award to memorialize his death."
"(His performance) has all the subtlety of a hangover - exactly what I’d expect from someone who headed home every night to a pill party."

Eric P. f***ing Lucas should take a leaf out of those actors' (whom he has absolutely no right to criticise) books.
Heath Ledger, not that it is any of anyone's business save his own, his family's and his close friends', did not kill himself. He had a daughter who meant the world to him- I find it extremely difficult to believe that he just "did away with himself" as Lucas so eloquently put it.
I quote another blog posting about this ignorant "writer" in saying that I have one thing to say to Lucas:

SHAME on Eric P. Lucas!!! Obviously you have no clue what Heath Ledger was all about! Heath Ledger gave it all to his brilliant performances with his heart and soul and he died because he put too much of himself into his work. I guess his movies are only for those who have a heart and a soul and who deserve watching them. Obviously they are not for you! Too bad! I'm surprised at Los Angeles Times too
shame on eric p lucas!!! heath ledger was a great actor, father, friend, human being, he loved his family very much and ofcourse his daughter too.. here in australia his presence is still going strong and all over the world he is truly missed!! how could you say that?? he will never be forgotten and his movies are legendary!! he is an icon to remembered for the ages!!! R.I.P. Heath Ledger!!! Australia and the world over misses you may you find the rest you so sorely needed and be remembered as a wonderful person!!! 5 and half months and still feels like yesterday ofcourse he deserves and oscar!!!
