Christy Turlington is one of the best super-models of the nineties. I guess it’s been a while since she graced the cover of a magazine or walked the runway. But today she’s making a sort of a comeback by being on the cover of the upcoming issue of W Magazine. This August issue of W Magazine is titled Champion. And in going with that theme Christy is posed as a Greco-Roman warrior-goddess. The photographer, Michael Thompson, perfectly captured Christy’s strength and beauty in the black and white photos.

Aside from her supermodel comeback, Christy Turlington is also busy working for humanitarian purposes. She’s specifically pushing for legislation to promote maternal health around the world. She recently joined former Spice Girl, Geri Halliwell, in Washington D.C. on this end. This effort is nothing new to Christy because she already spent a great deal of her time helping fistula survivors and promoting pregnancy awareness.
