sydney pollack

Legendary director Sydney Pollack passed away yesterday at the age of 73.
Pollack had been suffering from cancer for some time now and he just lost the battle.
He died at his home in Pacific Palisades and was surrounded by his family.

George Clooney spoke out about Pollack's death and said in a statement today:
"Sydney made the world a little better, movies a little better and even dinner a little better.
A tip of the hat to a class act. He'll be missed terribly."

Clooney worked with Pollack recently on Michael Clayton and on Leatherheads.

Pollack is famous for directing around 20 movies, including seven with Robert Redford, two of the most famous are The Way We Were and Out of Africa, which won him two Oscars as director and as producer of the film, which won the best picture Oscar.
Pollack wasn't only a director, he was also an actor and producer.
