Angelina Jolie is putting a lot of efforts as a UN Goodwill ambassador. Her latest call is for the humanitarian aid of Iraq.
A couple of weeks ago she was in Iraq to to learn more about the humanitarian crisis and the 4 million displaced people to learn more about the humanitarian crisis and the 4 million displaced Iraqis.
Yesterday in the Washington Post, Angelina penned a whole article about the moral obligation to help displaced Iraqi families and the need to end the crisis there.
In her article entitled "Staying to Help in Iraq", Angelina talks about her visit to Iraq and what she's seen there and what she thinks is the way to address this horrible crisis.
In Angelina's eyes, the world has to help Iraqi refugees, help the Iraqi government and boost its confidence in itself.
Angelina writes: "My visit left me even more deeply convinced that we not only have a moral obligation to help displaced Iraqi families, but also a serious, long-term, national security interest in ending this crisis."
More after the jump ...

* * * Great Job Angelina . . . May God Bless you & all who work for Justice & Peace . .
Peace,
TIA!!!
How are you? It's been a while.. too long a while even. Hope you're doing well.
..about the topic...
I actually hope she isn't just one of those celeb names that say they want to help and do nothing. It's nice to see what she has written - but honestly, there's nothing new there.
WOW! I LOVE THAT WOMAN! <3 I hope her work really helps!
* * * Lou LOu . . dear Lou Lou, I'm so glad to see your name (the original) . . . no wonder some postings didn't seem like you!!!!
I'm doing well & I hope that you are doing great : )
I hope that Angelina & other celeb are truethful to themselves first & then for the rest of the World (because they can do a lot just by using their names). I saw Angelina photos in Iraq on this website before or at least she was with Iraqi refugees. She seems that she knows what she is talking about. Most of the Iraqi displaced families living a misrable life in Turkey, Syria . . etc. I know some of them personally, and so far doesn't look like there an ending for this suffering.
May God Forgive & Guide them all . . .
I miss your postings & I hope to read more of them again : )
Wish you the BEST ya Lou Lou . .
Peace & all Good,
You're very right in saying:
"(because they can do a lot just by using their names)"
It's all because the world is celebrity obsessed. No one would honestly care if it was a member of the White House. People would read or hear the news but wouldn't show much of an interest towards it unless if it was an actress/ actor/ supermodel/ footballer etc. The people that we see in glossy magazines.
"She seems to know what she is talking about" that is because the amount of charity work that she gets involved in. I don't mean it as being a member and that's it. No! She definitely wants to get involved and be right there - making new houses as Brad has an intrest in doing so. She's very good when it comes to charity work.
If only there were more people like her in the industry that can wake up to see that just because of their names they can do something huge; and I don't mean that in a sense of designing their own fashion line but more about making a change to the world.
I'm very sorry to read about some Iraqis that you know of. It's not fair one bit for the innocent to suffer while the Americans know that they are fighting a pointless and lost war. If only they can admit to it and leave the country with their heads held high as they own up to their mistake infront of the whole world. Just like they started this war and commited so many outrageous crimes some of which was leaked and exposed to the world... some we, and I am sure about it, haven't seen yet.
But surely fighting a lost war means nothing. What do the Americans expect to gain?!
Oil. Of course, that's a temporary thing though.
But in the long-term what have they gained?
Nothing!
Nothing at all!
They have lost more than they have gained - and respect is just one of those things.
It takes more courage and pride in stepping out of the country and owning up to the big mistake than fighting the people and pretending that there is a very good cause... wehn really the whole world knows that there isn't.
Peace Insha'allah.
PS: My sweet Tia, I can't explain enough how big a smile I had on my face when I spotted your name. I'm so glad to see you again and hope to see you around.
Take Care
