So, it was a night to remember ... or was it?
You tell me ... Although there was no red carpet, no camera's flashing, no big stars waving to their fans and no live show, there was a live broadcast from an empty studio and Queen Latifa walking around! How can you forget something like that?!
In all cases, the 34th People's Choice Awards managed to carry on despite the writers' strike and as Queen Latifa put it: "I know this show's a little different than last time. But we have what's important – you, the people, and all your favorites all night long."
So, who were the big winners of the night?
Johnny Depp and Reese Witherspoon and Justin Timberlake lead the winners.
I can't leave out that there were actually pre-recorded acceptance speeches! My favorite was Joaquin Phoenix's speech ... which was a very quiet one!
Phoenix won Favorite Leading Man and he flipped through cue cards rather than actually speaking. "I'm speechless without the writers. Seriously. But in my own quiet way, I want to thank the millions of fans that voted for me for favorite leading man."
