Katie Holmes is all over the January 2008 issue of InStyle magazine.
She deserves to be there ... she's cute, classy, married to Mr. Mission Impossible himself, Tom Cruise and makes one cool mom!
In the interview Katie talks about a bunch of stuff, from her marriage, life with Tom, being a mom and fashion.
One of the first things Katie says is: "I respect tom and he respects me. We decided to do that when we got married. There's no 'Maybe'."
Maybe she said that to ward off all those rumors about Tom controlling her and treating her like those old-fashioned wives of the 19th and 18th centuries!
In all cases, the photo-spread is fantabulous! Great outfits and with each of them a testimony about Katie's sense of style and her down-to-earth character.
One of those is from The Cruise's close friend, designer Giorgio Armani, he says: "Everything about Katie is refreshing. It is unusual today to find an A-list actress who also maintains an endearing quality of girl-next-door charm."
First of all, I totally disagree with the title. Katie does not posess any of the qualities that would make one a "classy" person. She is a manufactured entity. At Tom's directiv-I believe-(he's never been really happy with her looks and now seems to have her being made into a combination of past girlfriends) she
has had a chin implant, nose job, cheek sculpturing, had her lips plumped, and possibly had an eye job. She has had some help from Posh and has had to deal with constant fashion suggestion from Tom's mom as well as Tom and his sisters. At one point they were reported to be taking her heels, and then sending Katie from person to person when she was looking for them. Katie, it seems, has prevailed-now the pictures make it look like she is towering over Tom(unlike their wedding when he he had her stooping down so she was shorter than him. Tom will do anything for media coverage -look at all the photo ops that there are whenever kKtie takes Suri out on the street. Katie is a manufactured entity-even to her comments-it's like she has memorized the script that Tom has worked out for her. I don't think that anything happens naTurally-it's like its all a part of Tom's marketing plan. Katie is about as natural and "classy" as a Barbie doll (the early ones from the 50's where Barbie has a sly, sideways glance and looks a bit 'trampy"). I will give InStyle credit, Katie looks better than the slovenly look she had for the Vanity Fair issue about a year ago. I'll bet that's when Tom sat Katie down and told her what she was to do in order to make him look better and increase media coverage.
she is classy and you know nothing about this unless you're a trash reader. Those that believe trash are so pitiful. Even before Tom Katie is a fashionista but has really blossomed more with motherhood and marriage. Its good that back then and now Katie does not flaunt her sex appeal.

Im amazed to see her transformation from girl next door to confident hot woman. But I agree that she has all this elegance and mature sophistication but she remains sweet,shy and an innocence about her.
She is so graceful in handling her new life and even some of the attacks morons give her.
