Kid Nation, Too Tough?

kid nation

The latest show to debut on US television, is the controversial show Kid Nation.
Reality TV shows have never gotten this tough! Putting it simply, Kid Nation is about 40 children who are abandoned in a ghost town in the New Mexico desert for 40 days without parental supervision! At first glance, this might sound like paradise for the kids ... but it's anything but paradise!
Kid Nation has been charged with being too tough & with breaking child labor laws even before it premiered, so what did TV critics & ordinary viewers think of the show, now that they've seen the 1st episode?
Personally, i found it to be interesting! Seeing what children in charge would do when faced with obstacles & serious issues, having to make choices is also intriguing; having to chose between a TV set & a bathroom ... that's really original! The kids impress & choose the bathroom! Kudos!

You have to admit, the show is a reflection of the world we live in ... Doesn't this sound familiar: The kids are divided into four groups, The winners are upper class, and don't have to do anything. Second place created a merchant team. They get to run the candy shop and dry-goods store. The third-place team became the town's cooks. Fourth were the laborers who had to clean the toilets. They were also paid the least.

It's a new concept, more interesting than Survivor, which has gotten old & boring!
Don't judge it from the 1st episode.
I'd love to be 15 again & I'd love to take part in the show!
