Today Matthew Fox turns 41 ... Happy B-Day Matt!
Matthew Fox was born in Pennsylvania & raised in Wyoming.
His dad was a geologist and rancher, while his mom was a teacher.
Fox attended Columbia University & studied economics ... after graduation he wanted a wall street career, but he turned down the first job offer & went in a whole different direction, modeling & acting!
At the age of 25, Fox made his debut on an episode of Wings ... his career went on from there with loads of supporting roles.
But the role that really got him sizzling is in the ever so famous series Lost.

Although Fox is now playing Dr. Jack Shephard, he initially auditioned for the role of James "Sawyer" Ford. However, co-creator J.J. Abrams was so pleased with his reading of the Dr. Shephard character that Fox was cast in the lead role.
For his work on Lost, Fox was nominated for a Golden Globe. He also won the 2005 Satellite Award and shared the 2006 Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series.
In 1991, Fox married Margherita Ronchi, and had two children with her: Kyle and Byron. He and his wife are expecting their third child.
