Could it be that Anna Nicole Smith died of a terminal illness ... & not from anything drug related?
A longtime friend of Anna Nicole Smith broke the news to ET Tonight about a secret than Anna had told him a couple of years ago.
Frank Rodriguez claims that Anna revealed to him that she suffered from Lupus. He also believes that Anna died due to complications from Lupus. He said: "Her whole body would ache. She would just shut down, basically; she would sleep for days. It was frightening at times, the seizures. She went into seizures a lot. She would black out a lot of the times. She pulled me aside and she told me that she was on medication for it. She told me her condition."
The reason why Rodriguez came forward with this information, he wants to set the record straight & put an end to the speculations & rumors that Anna Nicole had died of drug abuse.
If you don't know what Lupus is, it's a disease in which the body's immune system attacks its own organs & tissues, because it can't tell the difference between harmful substances & healthy ones.
It most often affects the joints, skin, kidneys, heart, lungs, blood or brain, which can result in achy joints, fever, prolonged fatigue & seizures.

Now that explains a lot.
In her last ever interview, she spoke openly about death. She also added that she wanted and would be very happy to reunite with her son.
That's when people thought that she was going crazy, and speculated that the issue must have been related to drugs, since she has a history of it.
So, it's all clear now. She knew she had Lupus, and was fully aware that she was dying.
But, why did she not speak openly about it?
I know, it's not something that really should not be spoken about, but people speak about cancer. We would have been more aware of what was going on.
But, her character wasn't the type that wanted to appear weak in front of the eyes of the public, especailly after everything that she had been through.
The only reason why this new was so big, was because nothing was clear, and all was unexpected.
Well done to Rodriguez. He was such a great man, and showed his loyalty to Anne by standing against the lies, and standing up for the truth.
That is such a difficult thing to do, especially if you are a close friend.
Anne wasn't there, but he stood up for her.
He set everything straight, so she could rest in peace.
And for that, I give him my respect.
I am not surprised...Worked as an RN and did see young fem. die from this...Unfortunate people just judge people without understanding them...My daughter has CP and people can be cruel...Spreading rumors is like the old game "telephone" and see how damaging information is without the facts. If this is true, no wonder she wanted to get away from "Deadhead" or do I mean "Birchhead", he was cruel to her and sold photos and she was trying to escape from him...See his old e-mails he was sending to her.
And his "pretty boy" hair color and all smiles at the court like he is appearing at the academy awards...People used Anna it will be the ultimate unfortunate thing if she died due to Lupas and Dannylynn has Birkhead as a father!
Lupus is not a "terminal illness" or disease. I wish people would do a minimum amount of research before writing shit about something they know nothing about.
debby dont be a b*tch
stop acting tough on the internet cuz you have nothing better to do in your life.
what a hater
I have lupus. I have it under control wiyh prescribed steriods from my rhumetologist. Thgere were times where I couldn't even get out of bed it hurt so much.
If she did have Lupus she should have seen a rhumetologist or another specialist for it.
I do have the occasional seisure once in a while.
If she took the correct medication maybe she would still be alive.
I am a 29 year old female and I have Lupus. I was diagnosed in the Navy 4 years ago. It comes with all kinds of other disorders. Depending on how bad your case of Lupus is and what other disorders you have with it it can be fatal. Your organs can shut down and attack themselves. Even with the right meds the Lupus may not be controlled. So Debby it can be fatal. I have done the research and know first hand how bad it can be. The Lupus would explain Anna Nicoles Weight gain. I doubled my weight in 3 months after being put on meds. The meds would make me just as loopy as Anna Nicole got in public. The methadone could have been used to help with the pain. It's a last ditch effort but if no other meds were hekping with her pain the meth. may have been the best solution and only one for her. I have not been in remission once in 4 years and have taken all the "right meds" so what works for some may not work for others. I am now 100% disabled and live with huge amounts of pain everyday. Who knows how much Anna Nicole was in except her?
Hearing Anna Nicole may have suffered from Lupus, and that it could have contributed to her death has frightened me in more ways than I can describe! I am awaiting the results of the autopsy performed on her to see if the disease is mentioned or not.
I was diagnosed with Lupus about 8 months ago, after repeated mis-diagnosis. I am shocked to see how quickly this disease can destroy my body. Skin eruptions, seizures, aching muscles, and now my teeth are starting to break down.
Thanks to all who shared positive information about the disease. And to "Nikki" a special thanks for spelling out the medication trail and error situation. I have been on about 3 "wonder-drugs" so far, and none has worked for me.
Life has never been about 24/7 happiness I know, but this disease is probably the cruelest around as far as daily life goes. The skin on my face is peeling off across my nose area, my face is puffy now, my teeth are falling out and I have some sort of rash spreading down my right arm now.
I will pray a cure is found!
Thanks to everyone who has spoken openly about the disease and their own pain. No matter how much one can read about it, it is only when they experience it that they understand it a lot more.
Respect delievered to each and everyone of you guys for doing so. It must have been so difficult to do so about something so personal and painful.
The only reason I find this interesting is because Lupus isn't something you hear a lot of, in comparison to cancer.
Thank you for opening up.
I truly and deeply wish all those who are suffering from this disease a speedy recovery :)
Take Care
PS: Vanessa MontesDeOca-Rabb, your comment touched me and I really wish your results go well.
wow! I just fell upon this.. I have Lupus, and yes it is a disease, and can be life threatning! If an organ goes into failure, well other than chemo, and newer cellcept drugs etc.. It can and has taken lives. It is a horrible life at times. I am disabled and struggle constantly. I have had kidney failure, it attacks my joints, blood, kidneys etc.. I now suffer with brittle bones from prednisone.. I have broken my back, and both wrists. I have had blood clots. I just fell last night? and ripped my rotator cuff and banged up my knee pretty bad. But, as bad as it is, I am doing o.k. Its very scary!
Good luck and blessings to all that deal with it, or any other disease daily!
PEACE!
I just stumbled on this webpage. I am 33 years old and I can identify with the horrible pain that one endures with this disease. When I was first diagnosed they told me I had SCLE and normally this type of Lupus doesn't cause organ damage but now 1 year later I have CNS, kidney and lung problems. This is a dibilitating illness and I hope that this story can help others become aware about the symptoms of this disease that affects many young women. I am praying for all of you that deal with the ugliness and sneakiness of the "Wolf".
TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN SHE HEAVILY OVER MEDICATED HERSELF BECAUSE SHE SUFFERED FROM SEVERE PAIN AND DEPRESSION, PEOPLE CAN DIE FROM COMPLICATIONS FROM LUPUS SLE> KIDNEYS OR HEART FAILURE, OR HEART ATTACK OR STROKE< FROM HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE DUE TO EXTREME PAIN. YES LUPUS SLE CAN BE FATAL<IF THE ILLNESS AFFECTS THE VITAL ORGANS OF A PERSONS BODY!!!!!!!!
