The Oscars 2007 are only a couple of weeks from now ... & Director Martin Scorsese has his fingers crossed for a golden boy all his own!
Scorsese won the award for best director at the Directors Guild of America for his job in the mob movie The Departed.
This is a huge achievement for Scorsese ... He beat the directors of Dreamgirls, Babel, Little Miss Sunshine & The Queen, thus winning his first DGA award after six previous nominations.
Now, that's even more important, because this mirrors the winner of the Oscar for Best Director! ... Now you see, that's why Scorsese has his fingers crossed!

It's really strange that Scorsese hasn't won an Oscar in all his 40 years in Directing! ... I mean movies like Raging Bull, Goodfellas & Gangs of New York all deserve more than the recognition they've already gotten. Would you believe that Goodfellas lost an Oscar to Dances with Wolves in 1990!
The guy deserves an Oscar ... & I hope he wins one this year! He's inn the competition with Clint Eastwood, Alejandro González Iñárrito, Stephen Frears & Paul Greengrass.
