Some never before seen photos of the one & only Marilyn Monroe have been released by her friend & photographer, 94-year-old Eve Arnold.
The photos capture Monroe in simple & private moments; in a bed, in a train & in front of a mirror in a bathroom.
Pulitzer proze winner Arnold says: "She trusted me & she was a joy to photograph. She liked my pictures & realised that they were a fresh approach to presenting her. By seeing Marilyn through photographs - the only way most people ever saw her - it may be possible to get some idea of how she saw herself & perhaps to glean some insight into the phenomenon that was Marilyn Monroe."
Unseen Photos of Marilyn Monroe
Limited edition prints have been released to selected galleries across the UK & the collection is being opened today at a Marilyn-themed evening event at the Meller Gallery in Witney, Oxfordshire & will be available only until Christmas.
Monroe died in 1962, she would have been 80 if she were still alive today.
