I went into this movie expecting the worst. Oh boy was I wrong.
Kevin Costner was great and Ashton Kutcher was phenomenal!
It’s a story about a troubled young man (Ashton) who enlists in the Coast Guard, where he's taken in by a renowned rescue swimmer who's hardened by the loss of his team from an accident years back.

It went on for over 2 hours and 15 minutes and I didn’t feel a thing.
Ashton really surprised me. His abilities to switch from ‘serious’ to ‘comical’ to ‘emotional’ are simply perfect.

Think of this movie as a Coast Guard version of Top Gun. The picture might be a bit jerky at the beginning but don’t let that discourage you.
If you’re looking for something meaningful, watch this movie.
