Matthew McConaughey was born in Texas & is the youngest of three boys. He came from a regular family, his dad ran a Texaco gas station, worked as a truck driver, & was a former professional football player. -Now we know how Matt came to love football & the Texas Longhorns!- His mom was a substitute schoolteacher.
Matt started his career with TV commercials & small movie roles, most remembered is his role in Dazed & Confused.

But he continued the path until it all paid off in 1997, when he won an MTV Movie Award for best breakthrough performance for his role in A Time to Kill.
