American Haunting was a really spectacular movie. I watched it on DVD last night just before bed hoping that it would make me fall asleep. Oh boy was I wrong. I couldn’t move my eyes away from the suspense and anticipation! Since I’m a huge fan of the horror genre, I immediately saw 3 or 4 movies in one. It was like Poltergeist meets A Nightmare on Elm Street who then meet up with The Grudge and hang out with The Exorcist all in the 19th century.
It terrified me simply because there was no blood (negligible amount) and no stupid monsters! It used ‘spirits,’ which always makes me chilly, in addition to brilliant direction capabilities and excellent acting guaranteed to send shivers down your spine.
The only problem I had was the ‘ending.’ I won’t say a word to spoil anything but all I can say is it was very puzzling. Sure, I had some idea about what happened but I wasn’t certain. I hate it when movies tend to confuse viewers just so you can say: “Oh, how deep” when, in reality, it’s nothing more than a simple twist wrapped in confusion.
American Confusion or not, this movie is worth while.
I do get it now so watch the movie, tell me if you didn’t understand it and we’ll talk.

Trick or treat!
Watched Silent Hill last night and I found it scary. The ending was annoying. I mean you go through all that angst and then they reward with such an ending. Anyway it was good but the ending was depressing.
