Gone with the Wind is one of the greatest American classics ever made and almost 70 years later, it's still a loveable movie to watch!
For those of you who haven't seen it, you shouldn't miss out. Not only is it a war classic which depicts heroism, love and chivalry at its best, it's also quite funny and sad at the same time.
What makes Gone with the Wind so interesting is the fact that it was made in 1939! And since then, it has made over 390 million dollars world-wide. (any similarity in numbers? 1939,390?)
But that's since 1939...according to estimates, Gone with the Wind actually made 2,699 BILLION!!! How?
The list of highest-grossing films of all time says that at Number 1, Titanic (1997) made 1.86 Billion dollars but if you take into consideration the inflation rate and the numbers of movie-goers in 1939, the total estimated profit generated by Gone with the Wind is 2.66 billion in today’s money!!!
