I was told that a gentleman never asks a lady about her age or weight. This is true but when you find that Julie Andrews celebrates her 71st birthday, that really makes me wonder! She’s the total depiction of beauty and grace. I was raised on movies like Marry Poppins (1964) and the wonderful Sound of Music (1965) where even today, they are enjoyable and fun to watch!
Julie was born in England in 1935, she was discovered as a child to have a lovely four-octave singing voice. She made her Broadway debut in 1954 at the young age of 19. Later, she worked in television until 1964 when Marry Poppins was released which was her first successful movie for which she got a well-deserved Oscar.
I can’t think of any actress who has the grace, charm or refinement of Julie Andrews. Always decent in her movies. Always doing the right thing. Is there anyone who can take her place?

I would say Julie too she is just so wonderful, even know it isn't true she have always been decent in her moives! ;) she did a stripteas in Darling Lili and showed her breast in S.O.B.
But I think she is just the best, and I don't think there is anyone who can take her place.

I adore Julie!! there is no actress as wonderful, talented, beautiful and gracious as she, she did indeed show her breasts in Duet For One as well i believe...but i have never seen it so i can't be sure!

I am a new fan since Dec. 2005 after I've seen "The Sound of Music" when it was being replayed in one of the TV local stations. Julie Andrews is my favorite actress and I saw and owned almost all her movies except "That's Life". She is the most amazing and the most talented actress I do admire. I can't belive it was Julie's 71th birthday 4 days ago! Who would belive she's 71 years old?! Just look at her! She dosn't even look a year over 60! She's a tallented actress, wrighter and singer and she has made some of the most wonderful movies in the world! She's very gracious and lady like, but I have to say she can ble just like you and I! That's why I love her. That's why we Julie fans loves here. That's why the world loves her. She's herself and very down to earth. A true idol and inspration <3
Mna, where do I begin! OK, I've been reading Julie ANdrew's biography and I can never lay it down. I'm always singing her songs from Mary poppins and The Sound of Music, she's the most and the best actress, she's so natural, and she's so beautiful. When I see pictures of hr her movies ect. it brings tears to my eyes! Because of everything she has done, she's so graceful and no wonder she's so loved! I mean who couldn't love her. We have a thing or two in common I act for a Children's Bible T.V. program, with my whole family. And just from reading her book made me really wonder how ot be a better actress. Also, my birthday is in October too! The 23rd, which is ina a week! I'll be 14. Happy Belated Birthday!!!
