Pete Doherty is a hopeless case!

pete doherty

Pete Doherty has proven once again that he is a hopeless case! There's no way he's going to get sober again! Nothing will get him out of the ditch he's in!
After getting into rehab a few weeks ago, then getting charged with attacking a male nurse in the center, he has done the unthinkable!
Pete was caught smuggling a small quantity of the A list drug to a young man in the adolescent wing of the clinic!

A source from the clinic told one of the British newspapers that this may be the last chance that Pete get; 'Pete's been drinking in The Last Chance Saloon for years. This is it. He has broken his bail by having drugs and shown contempt for the law and morality yet again. These are impressionable kids addicted to drugs. The last thing they need is a junkie rock star turning up with a wrap of cocaine'.

Unbelievable! I can't believe a news site can purport to be respected when it merely recycles tabloid fodder which has absolutely no merit or validation.

    Waleg.com is THE hopless case!

Pete is the best thing to happen to music in years, he's 100% his own and Id rather have a hundred more him playing the stages than some dance routine muppet show the big labels generate for the mass's. Thanks Pete for being you and living your life the way you do.

    Rock on!!

Well, Pete proberbly saved the young man in question years of hypocritical rehab and pious self hatred brought on by greedy self styled professionals who feed off media fads and frenzies and convince the stupid that they are helpless, please don't think that I will ever return to this website again, I won't, so the moral majority can sit and steam to their hearts content on someone else's time

Leave Pete be... this is garbage... whether it's lies or not... you realize this guy has a problem? That he obviously can't control... it's not fair that you keep picking on him. He's the greatest artist we've seen so far since the beginning of the millenium.

I can't believe anyone who would put a bad name to this man. Even though I fainted and am covered black and blue from the 20,000 fans that would do anything to get close to their hero at Get Loaded, I can safely say that it was the best night of my life and I wouldn't change it for a thing. Peter played the most amazing set I have ever seen, he was beaming and I hope he stays that way, he looked amazing and is absolutly effin gorgeous in flesh! He's like a little cherub... anyway yes. You musn't belive such stories like this. You mustn't belive anything for 100% that you read about Peter, there are too many people out to get him, twisting lies. I just can't understand it, he's so gentle, why wouold anyone want to hurt him? I hope he's fine and dandy for all his days and has a happy, undisturbed relationship with Kate moss. LOVE you xxx

He's undoubtably the most overrated artist to slash his misguided way through the UK music scene in years. His music is neither original nor particularly well executed, and even the least trained ear can see that Libertines/Babyshambles are but a portion of the middling guitar slosh that is currently in favour in British pop.

Most importantly, do not labour under the illusion that Doperty is in anyway "special". His image is as artfully cultivated as any others, and you can include the winners of Pop Idol in that as well. He's just dressed up for a different crowd, namely middle class indie kids clamouring for a bit of danger in their banal suburban lives.

Frankly, he's really a bit of a selfish prick when you lay bare the facts. He robbed his best mate, which isn't nice. His role as a parent is most kindly described as an utter disgrace. His attitude to those who don't meet his "cool crowd criteris" (such as MTV cameramen) is off-hand and disrespectful. And if he really cared about his fans, he'd turn up to gigs where people had paid good money for them.

Sorry kids, those are the facts. You can dream about Pete all day, but he ain't really that admirable a bloke at all when the facts are laid bare.

    Vic

Such a witty, insightful riposte. One that methodically addresses each point raised in a thoughtful and careful manner. A fool? Well, that I may be. But I'd be more a fool to simply embrace the latest blip (albeit a blindingly bright one) on the celebrity landscape.

Thing is, there are two ways to be noteable in the pop lexicon. Actually, three ways.

The first way is to write groundbreaking, original music.

The second way does not require originality, but you do have to be unbelieveably skilled at your interpretation and presentation of an existing school of pop/rock (call it what you will).

Unfortunately, Pete's not really kicking any goals with these two options. I remember seeing him live at Glasto as well, and frankly, it was all a bit embarrassing, not least of all for Pete.

Which leaves us with the third option, the path of notoriety. Take heaps of drugs, shag a supermodel, fall deeply in love with the cult of celebrity and revel in the spotlight. Anyone whose seen footage of P-Doh walking out of a courthouse can't fail to see how much he adores the headlines.

Problem is that the 3rd route requires none of the attributes of the first two routes, and ultimately leaves one to become the Adam Ant of the 21st century.

But yeah, Vic, I talk shit. You, on the other hand, are one of the most articulate and thoughtful people to grace the internet.

    Boris
