The 'Gattacal' actress divorced ex-husband Ethan Hawke amid rumors he was cheating on her. Since the painful split, the exotic talent admits she guards her feelings.
"I've been excessively cautious or paranoid," she told a newspaper, but admitted that now she's opening up, even though she's nervous about the price she could pay for a mistake.
"I found the publicity and paparazzi difficult to take as a young mother," she said. "I've always been aware that every time I've lost my temper, every time I've flinched, I've paid for it, and I'm conscious of the cost - and my own responsibility

Thurman added that she has two sides, she thinks she's very public and strong and organized but also I'm very private and "more challenged."
Uma has two children with Ethan, eight-year-old Maya Ray and Levon Roan, who is four.
