According to Forbes Magazine, Angelina Jolie has been chosen among the top 10 most generous celebrities in Hollywood.
Angelina is a Goodwill Ambassador for the United Nations High Commission for Refugees since 2001, and has been associated with humanitarian works for refugees in the developing countries.
The other nine celebrities in the list are Bono, Oprah Winfrey, Jackie Chan, Nicholas Cage, Sandra Bullock, Steven Spielberg, Celine Dion, Paul McCartney and California governor Arnold Schwarzenegger.

The fact that she gives back and even cares is great...Who the hell cares what your opinions are, when there are needy people in this world. IF she didn't give...then you would have something to complain about.Also I bet you don't when what your talking about!

That is smart of her to do her "do gooding" act and pretend to care when you're renting a whole hotel to yourself, and there are tons of homeless people in the very country you're renting your hotel in. Or renting an entire restaurant to yourself, when people are Starving In Africa, as she has said on millions of times.

Angelina Jolie has shown through her actions and her money that she stands by her beliefs that we are living in a global world where there is a need to give to those who have so little. She donates one third of her income to charity. What ever some people think about her, she has shown herself to be a caring person. It is easy to trash her but in the end her actions speak for her.

I live in Asia and have spent many years here. When Ang comes to SE Asia, she makes the news. Come and visit the people she has helped. . . ask them. One comment I have heard/read several times from refugees in Thailand is that they welcome Jolie's pledges more than government pledges. When she says she's going to do something, it gets done. She doesn't make empty promises to these people. She puts her money where her mouth is. Not unlike many of us who live/work/volunteer here, Cambodia captured Ms. Jolie. She is VERY knowledgable on refugees, as noted by numerous people who work for and with the UN. US Senate aids that have dealt with her have been very impressed, as have I, by not only the facts and figures, but her personal experiences. She actually listens to these people!
As for renting a "whole hotel". . . she is pregnant and being stalked! I think she deserves a little time with her family. She rented several rooms at an African resort-- she does have quite a few people with her!! I am sure she would love not to go to such extremes to protect her children and her privacy, but imagine the scenario if she didn't-- every minute she steps out the push and shove of photographers. Need I repeat: she's pregant.
South East Asia and Africa are inexpensive places to travel, yet few Americans do, and few of the few venture off a well-beaten tourist track. I welcome you to come visit and maybe your heart, like Angelina's, will be so deeply affected you will find some purpose in your life.
