Today, from Liverpool to New York fans and music lovers are lighting candles and bringing flowers and remembering the man who created some of the worlds greatest songs.

One of the biggest events that will take place is the gathering of people in Strawberry Fields section of Central Park in New York to light candles at exactly 10.50 PM, the time John Lennon was killed.
Lennon wasn't only a man of music, but also a man of peace.
