The marketplace is becoming crammed with compact crossovers. But that hasn’t discouraged Volkswagen from adding another unit. For 2009 this brand is offering a uniquely named crossover SUV – the Tiguan. It’s a very unique name that’s courtesy of Volkswagen aficionados. The company made a poll on its website and let the public decide what name to give the latest offering. Tiguan means part Tiger and part Iguana.
This crossover SUV has a very deceiving appearance. It looks small outside, but when you get inside it’s quite spacious. It can accommodate four adults, but if they are just slim 5 can be seated. The dashboard is a display of carefully organized controls and switches. The seats are easily adjustable – they can slide up and back, recline, fold, and split so there’s more space for cargo if needed. Other interior features include power windows, power locks, cruise control, four 12-volt power points, music players, and an electronic parking brake. This car will already bear ESP or Electronic Stability Program.
