For years people have awaited the chic and petite Fiat 500, but now the wait is over! This car is actually a new and improved version of the Nuova 500 and it was actually released on the 50th anniversary of its predecessor!
The Nuova was marketed as an affordable Italian car to overcome the congestion in the Italian cities in 1957. The new three door Fiat 500 will come in a 69 horsepower 1.2L 8v four model, a 75 horsepower 1.3L 16-valve turbodiesel model and a 100 horsepower 1.4L 16-valve model which is a first in the car business!
The Fiat 500 producers have given the buyers a few accessories they can use to customize their cars which include ‘chrome nudge bars and cabin perfume dispensers’!
This amazing car will be offered with a 5 years/ 500 000 KM manufacturer’s warranty and other services in Europe. It seems Fiat is all for firsts because for the first time a 3.55 metre car (Fiat 500) went home with a 5 star rating in the EuroNCAP impact tests and rumour has it that when the 6-star rating is available the Fiat 500 will go for it!

I think the New 500 is something more than an 'improved version' of the original car of 1957. I served with the US military in Rome in the late 60s and saw the original 500, and I loved it. I have also seen the New 500 and it is every bit as charming and appealing to look at, it will be as easy to find parking spaces as it was in the original, even here in Rome, but it is just packed with technology as the 5 star safety rating confirms. What a pity we won't ever see it in the USA. It's just what is needed.
I think you yourself in a way just showed how the new 500 is an improved version, the new Fiat is ' packed with technology' which makes it more appealing to loads of people today. I respect your opinion thought and your experience. TO be honest Im not a fan of the Fiat 500 myself... I like bigger cars better. I guess its just a matter of taste. I heard about it not being available in the USA but a friend is actually trying to buy one overseas and ship it into the USA but i dont know if he will be able to. Thanks for your comment Henry!
