Algerian superstar Cheb Mami is to stand trial in France over allegations that he forced a former partner of him to undergo abortion. This case was first talked about in May 2007 when the alleged partner accused Mami of forcing her to have an abortion.

After skipping bail and running away to Algeria, France issued out an international arrest warrant. On Monday 29th of June Mami was arrested upon his arrival to the Orly airport in France. If convicted Mami will face a minimum of 10 years in prison and of course a bad reputation, that will utterly destroy his career.

Mami is known for his amazing Rai music and has sung alongside great international and Arabian super stars such as Samira Saed. However Mami denies all allegations made and says that all of this is a scheme because he is a successful Arabic singer.

The result show started off with a sexy and amusing hip-hop/ballroom routine choreographed by Napoleon and Tabitha D’umo and Dmitry Chaplin. There were also two special performances one was by the veronicas and they performed ‘take me on the floor’ and another performance by the Rage Boys Crew whom were very adorable btw.

The bottom three for this week were Jason & Caitlin, Jonathan and Karla and Vitolio and Asuka. Caitlin’s performance as usual was superb; I didn’t really enjoy Karla and Asuka’s performances they lacked content. The guys’ solos were very weak, however I really enjoyed Jason’s performance, I guess I love ‘Taking Back Sunday’ way too much. Sadly Jonathan and Asuka left the show.

Hard luck Jonathan and Asuka!

A great show indeed; the top 16 where splendid, the routines where unique and the choreography was breathtaking. The show started off a bit slow but half way through, it was absolutely amazing.

There were two hip hop routines choreographed by Dave Scott. The first was performed by Karla and Jonathan and it lacked both energy and technique especially from Jonathan. The second hip hop routine performed by Brandon and Janette was simply yet utterly mind-blowing. The routine was a mixture of hip-hop and rock it was really quite entertaining.

There were three ball room routines, two, a Paso Doble and a Viennese waltz where both choreographed by Jean Marc Genereux. The Paso Doble, performed by Jason and Caitlin was good, they did their best. However the Viennese waltz that was performed by Kupono and Kayla was tremendous, it was beautiful, elegant and it felt like there where flowing on water, I thoroughly enjoyed it. The third ballroom routine was the hot and sexy rumba choreographed by Toni Meredith and was performed by Ade and Melissa, the dance was sensual and the dancers were on fire.

The three remaining routines where each quite different, Asuka and Vitolio danced to a jazz routine choreographed by Mandy Moore, it was nice, however Asuka looked really lost. The ‘butt’ routine was my favorite, it was a contemporary routine choreographed by Mia Michaels and was performed by Randi and Evan, the whole routine revolved around Randi’s butt!
Closing the show were Philip and Jeanine, who did a Broadway routine choreographed by Tyce Diorio, it was really entertaining and quite a fun way to end the show.

A new clue to how the people lived 35,000 years ago has been pieced together. It’s not another skeleton of a pre-historic human being but rather a musical instrument made from the wing bone of a vulture. The archaeologists unearthed the flute as fragments last summer in the Hohle Fels cave in Germany. There were 12 pieces of the flute scattered all over the cave and this team of archaeologists lead by Nicholas Conard painstakingly pieced them all together. The result is an 8.6-inch flute having five holes and a notched end. The flute dates back 35,000 years ago, which makes it the oldest musical instrument in the world.

But, aside from being the oldest instrument, this Hohle Fels flute has more significance.
This new discovery gives a big insight on how people lived back then in Europe. It shows that people already had a modern society. “These finds demonstrate the presence of a well-established musical tradition at the time when modern humans colonized Europe,” according to Conrad. He and his colleagues published their findings on Wednesday in the journal Nature.

Colette Al Helani, former Miss Lebanon, famous model and wife of Lebanese singer Assi Al Helani had been offered a chance by Rotana to become a famous singer and Rotana also promised to produce multiple albums for her. However, Assi was not thrilled at all with this idea, in fact reports are that Rotana have frozen this offer until problems between Colette and Assi have been resolved.

Apparently the issue is very big and has caused serious fights between the couple. A source said that Assi is still holding on to his beliefs that Colette should take care of their three children who are in serious need of her instead.

Do you think that it’s selfish of Assi to deny his wife the dream he is living or do you think that as Arabs it’s nice to see someone still holding on to his culture and beliefs?

As Turkish shows have taken the Arab TV by storm, I came across a show that took me by storm. Zoraki Koca as it goes by in Turkish, meaning impossible love (al 7ob al mosta7il) is a show that has your typical love story between Omar, the young flirt that has girls all over him, and Rasha, the respected and "hard-to-get" beautiful girl.
The story has the typical guy that has all the girls and never experienced real love.
Being rich, not having to work, Omar starts off as the immature, ungrateful "mama's boy" who meets Rasha on a "working trip" in a small village and the trip quickly turned into a girl-filled pool party.

The usual "charm" doesn't quite work on Rasha who bitterly rejects Omar's tries after hearing his opinion on a girl's brain in a conversation with his friends.
The last episode was aired the day before yesterday as I watched it online on youtube, but it was originally shown on MBC drama plus.

The show amazingly combines drama and comedy which leaves you crying and laughing in the same episode! Will Rasha fall for Omar's "charm"? Where does that leave them?

I found it amazing, and unlike any other Turkish show that I've previously watched.
Did you watch it? What did you think?

This controversial movie is based on a novel by French-Iranian journalist Freidoune Sahebjam, the movie revolves around the horrible story of Soraya whom had been stoned to death (Rajm) and about the uncivil law and lack of rights for women in Iran. In the movie Soraya’s aunt tells the story of her niece to Sahebjam in hopes that it will be published.

The result show started off with a breath taking group routine choreographed by Mia Michael the routine was weird and freaking yet totally amazing only Mia can move us like this with her routines.

The bottom three couple where, Jason and Caitlin, Kupono and Ashley and Max and Karla. All three couples blew us away with their amazing solos, all three female dancers are contemporary dancers but each girl performed in a very unique and different way from the other. Jason’s solo was unbeatable; he is a strong and cute dancer. Kupono’s solo was like something Sonya would choreograph I really liked it though, Max’s solo was normal he is a bit challenged in his solos since he is a ballroom dancer.

There was a unique performance in the show by Amrapali Ambegaokar, an Indian kathak (storyteller) dancer it was quite entertaining to watch. The musical guest was Kristinia DeBarge and she performed ‘Goodbye’. All rumors that Katie Holmes would be dancing on the show where false but who knows we might see her in the upcoming episodes.

Sadly Max Kapitannikov and Ashley Valerio were eliminated thus making Kupono and Karla new patterns.

I wonder what the top 16 have hidden for us next week personally I can’t wait.

After the amazing show the top 20 had in stores for us last week our expectations where really high and unfortunately the let us down, the dancers lacked energy , technique and even style. I couldn’t help but laugh at Philip and Jeanine’s attempt to a tango dance, or Kupono and Ashley’s hip-hop routine.

However although the majority of the routines where really disappointing! There were some amazing routines I loved so much I got goose bumps. The first was a contemporary routine choreographed by Canada’s Stacey Tookey, the routine was a love story between cutie pie Jonathon and sexy Karla and the danced to falling slowly by the frames.

Another great fun and fast routine was Brandon and Janette’s disco routine, it has superb lifts great twists and overall amazing dancers. A brilliant and moving dance also was Asuka and Vitolio’s waltz routine, it was elegant and the movement was effortless.

What was your favorite routine?

I just came across a photo of country music singer and American Idol graduate, Kellie Pickler wearing a dress that looks so familiar!
Then I remembered! Najwa Karam was wearing the exact same dress in the finale of Star Academy 6.

Kallie was sporting the dress during the CMT Awards on Tuesday night.
The short and strapless dress is a paillette-strewn Zuhair Murad creation.
The dress is, no doubt, eye-catching!
Now the question is ... Who looks better in the dress? Najwa Karam or Kellie Pickler?
What do you think?
