Last night, viewers in the Arab World, got the chance to watch the final prime of World Bellydance Championship!
The final prime was a heated competition between the remaining four dancers, Estelle from Costa Rica, Rana from Lebanon, Laila from Ukraine and Fadwa from Morocco.
It was with Lebanese singer Assi Hillani that the show ended ... during the last prime, Assi performed some of his most popular songs and even danced the Dabkeh to the tunes of his song about the Arabic horse.
The most interesting part of the show was the face to face duel between Estelle and Rana and between Laila and Fadwa. the dancing was sort of a theatrical performance, which was very effective in showing the difference of talent from one dancer to the other.

Tonight and in the 8th prime of World Bellydance Championship, where the guest was Lebanese singer Aline Khalaf, the remaining 5 dancers had to compete hard and show that they were really on top of their game.
The contestants had to perform twice, the second being an improvised dance with the percussionists of the live band, something between the rhythm of the Arab Darbukka and the African beat. Totally not easy!
All in all, three of the five contestants did well; Estelle, Fadwa and Layla.
The other two, Sandra and Rana, were mediocre!
So, the unlucky dancer to leave before the 9th and final prime is Sandra from Syria.
Sorry Sandra! Hard Luck!

So, who will the lucky dancer to win the title and a whopping $50.000 be?
We'll find out next week! Same time, same place! Here on WALEG!

Last week, the 7th prime of LBC World Bellydance Championship was a challenging one!
The young ladies had to show their ability to bellydance creatively!
Most of the dancers strutted their stuff on the floor, but there were others who decided to do a few tricks with fire or dance atop of a Darbukka! That's creative!
The unlucky dancer to leave last week was Naira from France ... While the one to get the highest marks was Laila from Ukraine!

What will happen tonight in the 8th prime? Who will leave? ...

The 6th prime of World Bellydance Championship was about modern bellydancing. The remaining dancers chose their uniform, chose the song to dance to and tried their best to give a performance that was a mixture of traditional dancing and modern dancing, which was not a bad idea at all.
But it seems for most of the girls, it was difficult to blend those two types of dancing together, so their performances were not to the liking of the judges.
The best two performances were from Moroccan Fadwa and Lebanese Estelle .. they got the highest marks from the judges.
As for the other girls ... their dancing varied from mediocre to bad!

Tonight the prime was very special because of its theme ... the dance of the butterfly!
This dance has existed since the old days of the ancient Egyptians! It is the dance of the goddess Isis!
The prime kicked off with a performance from the Lebanese singer Iwan.
It was then time for the dancers to perform, this time with the help of butterfly wings!
Just like last time, i'll put a mark out of 5 for each dancer according to what i though ...
The first to dance was Rana from Lebanon, i give her an easy 3!
Then it was Poussy from Egypt, she has done much better than the last times ... i give her a 3 too!
Sandra from Syria was next ... she gets a 2 from me!

The rest after the jump!

The World Bellydance Championship prime tonight kicked off with a song and performance from Lebanese singer Miriam Fares.
Then it was time for the 10 bellydancers to strut their stuff on stage ... So, I'm not going to say how they did, but I'm going to give each one a mark out of 5 ... and it's only my personal opinion as a viewer!
So, here it goes:
Layla from Ukraine - 3
Maria from Lebanon - 2
Maira from Brazil - 4
Malika from Russia - 3
Rana from Lebanon - 3

Tonight we got to know about the art of bellydancing; it's an art, with a set of rules and importance on other aspects other than the belly and the behind! Like face expressions and arm placement.
The aim of the program is to find a real bellydancer, who will show bellydancing as the fine art it is.
We met six new dancers, from the Arab world, Europe and South America.
Here are the names of the dancers and what their performance was like:
Rana from Lebanon - She's not bad and Najwa Fouad liked her!
Naira from France - Very active and the judges thought she was good.
Pousy from Egypt - Over confident and should take the judges advice into consideration!

Meet the other three after the jump!
