LBC seems to have fallen off the radar since the cancellation of the popular talent show Star Academy .. but Rula Saad has been working real hard on something to bring viewers back and this something is called "Splash".

Splash is an International entertainment show, which will kick off this Sunday, that is all about celebrities in swimsuits (male & female celebrities) and their readiness to jump into the water from different heights!

Tomorrow night there's a special show on cbc satellite channel!
Two shows have been merged; Huna Al 3asimah & Al Bernameg! This gives us Huna Al Bernameg!! With both hosts, Lamees Hadidi & the ever so famous Bassem Youssef!

What a strange and shocking decision has Iran taken against those who have worked with Hatem Ali on the epic series "Omar"!
According to many Iranian newspapers, all those who have worked on Omar, whether behind or in front of the camera, have been expelled from Iran and have been banned from working on any future Iranian projects!

It seems Iran saw "Omar" as being humiliating and insulting to them ... and contains a lot of twisted facts and some far from the truth details!
They particularly where insulted by the battle of "Al Qadissiya" and object to the use of "Arabian Gulf" instead of "Persian Gulf"!

Syrian actor Abbas Al Nouri is truly a fantastic actor ... we love seeing him on screen whether the role he's playing is an old one or a modern one. He makes any character he plays feel believable and real.

Al Nouri returns to the screen of MBC with a new series called "Al Qumaimi" or "الأميمي".
Al Qumaimi used to be a job back in the days of Al Hara and the Turkish baths.
Al Qumaimi's job was to collect all the garbage from the streets of Al Hara and use it, in addition to wood and twigs, in lighting the fire for the Turkish bath.

Ramadan has become the month of TV series! Producers and channels compete for the most viewers and the title of most popular TV series in Ramadan.
This year the list is long, as usual, but it seems there are a few that really stand out among the crowd.

Adel Imam's "Firkat Naji Attallah" seems to be leading the pack!
"Kinat Al Sham w Kanaen Al Shamieh" and "Al Zawja Al Rabiaa" seem to be following in second place.
As for Yahia Al Fakharani's "Al Khawaja Abdel Qader", it seems to be third on the viewers list.

You must have had the curiosity to watch "Omar" on MBC or Nessma, and thus you must have caught a glimpse of, if not all of the title song. I have and I thought it looked and sounded kind of familiar!

Then it came to me! Eureka!

Have you heard of a popular HBO TV series called "Game of Thrones" ?
If you have, then you'd see the similarity between the title song of "Game of Thrones" and the title song of "Omar".

An Iranian-German composer, Ramin Djawadi, worked on the soundtrack of "Game of Thrones" and the title song is very impressive. The show open is also very unique; panning over a map of the area and flying over various kingdoms to see their name and glimpse of their "mechanism" in 3D!

Jamal Sulaiman has really taken Egyptian drama by storm! He's been appearing in Egyptian TV series for the past few years and has gotten the hang of the Egyptian accent!
This year he's the star of a series entitled "Sayedna El Sayed".

This year Laila Uloui is taking on "Napoleon Bonaparte" !
The series, which stars a number of Arab and Non-Arab actors, and is directed by the famous Tunisian director Shawqi Al Majri, sheds light on Egypt during the late 18th century when Napoleon invaded Egypt.

Who can forget that funny and handsome Taxi driver, The gentleman, Abu Janti!?
He made us laugh throughout Ramadan 2010 and now he's back with a twist and is working a sweat in Dubai!

Abu Janti seems to have taken up a job as a Pizza delivery guy and he may be venturing into becoming a Taxi driver in Dubai ... we'll know for sure during the coming episodes.

Ahmad Al Shukairi, one of the brightest minds in the Middle East, returns this Ramadan on MBC with season 8 of his constructive show "Khawater".

This season is very different ... Guinness Book of World Records different!

Ahmad aims at making the Arab youth fall in love with voluntary work, by showing a group of young people from around the Arab world, breaking records and getting listed in the Guinness Book of World Records for volunteering! Interesting!

Egyptian actor Yahia Al Fakharani returns to your TV screens this Ramadan with a series entitled "Al Khawaja Abdel Qader".
Obviously, Al Fakharani plays "Al Khawaja" during World War II in Egypt.
The series sheds light on the troubled political and social life of Egyptians during that period.

During the past few years, we've watched a series called "Sabaya" in two seasons ... and if that wasn't enough, this year you've got a date with another bunch of sabaya on MBC in a series called "Hikayat Banat".

The series stars Saba Mubarak, Huria Farghali, Dina Sharbini and Riham Ayman.
The series sheds light on the lives of the four girls, their everyday life and issues that concern them as well as all girls like them across the Arab world.

Don't you think the similarity between the two series is redundant?
I for one hope, for their sake, that they bring us something new and surprising.

Haifa Wehbe has ventured into another acting experience for this coming Ramadan.
"Mouled w Sahbu Ghaieb" is a series in which Haifa Wehbe shares the screen with previous co-star Mohammad Kareem, who acted with her in "Dukkan Shehata".

Mohammad will be playing the role of Sharif Ibrahim, a police officer, who strictly believes in justice and equality. When he's not on the job, Sharif shows a softer side of his personality, one that is passionate and romantic.

Adel Imam returns to the little screen this Ramadan with a bold series entitled "Firkat Naji Attallah".
Imam plays Naji Attallah, a diplomat in the Egyptian embassy in Tel Aviv!
Attallah falls into a lot of trouble after speaking his mind about Israel's policies in the Middle East on a TV show. He gets alienated by the embassy and ends up with no assets and money! He decides to rob a bank ... in Israel!
