brooklyn bridge

If you know a bit about New York city, then the Brooklyn Bridge must be one of the things you know!
It's opening ceremony was way back in May 1883 and it drew thousands of spectators and even the then-president, Chester A. Arthur!
The Brooklyn Bridge, which connects Brooklyn and Manhattan, took 13 years to build and cost a whopping $15 million! Yup, in the 1800's that was a lot of money!
Yesterday, fireworks commenced the 5-day celebration of the bridge's 125-year birthday.
The bash included a Navy flyover, a stunning new lighting scheme, a musical tribute and even a birthday cake in the shape of the bridge!
There were also a couple of performances by the Brooklyn Philharmonic and Oscar-winning composer Marvin Hamlisch.

If you live in New York, be sure to join the celebrations and enjoy it to the max!
Gosh, How i wish i was there!

Happy Birthday!

Mawazine Festival

It really is rare to see two great artists from two different generations and two different sides of the world performing in an Arab country. Well Morocco’s ‘Mawazine Festival’ will be bringing not only great Arab artists like Nancy Ajram to the Arab world but also western musical legends like Whitney Houston. The festival will be occurring in four separate areas of Rabat each with a different ‘theme’.

Razan at the Cairo film festival

Cairo Film Festival opened yesterday with a showing of the British movie "Death at a Funeral".
Amid controversy, CIFF is seeking to regain its place as the Arab world's international cinematic meeting point after it has been crowded by two important festivals, Morocco's Marakesh film festival and Dubai film festival.
The most talked about aspect of the grand opening wasn't the Arab movies and the other 19 international films from 16 countries, which are competing for the Golden Pyramid ... but the outfits on the red carpet!
Actresses and media figures arrived at the red carpet in revealing gowns and bold designs that turned heads and generated question marks!
While Egyptian actresses Laila Elwi and Yusra both sported stunning gowns, perfect for the event, others wore outrageous choices!
