Tamer hosni new year 2009 party

In spite of the tragic events in Gaza and despite the cancellation of most New Year's eve bashes across the Arab world, some stars thought it would be a better idea to go on with their concerts and sing the night away, ushering in 2009 with music and dancing!
Tamer Hosni was one of those who opted to go ahead and perform.
Tamer held a bash, that went on until the wee hours of the morning, at the Semiramis hotel in Cairo.
That same night, in City Stars, Assi Hilani, Dina Hayek and Jannat partied 2008 away!!

There were 15 girls who were chosen, Miss, Trinidad-Tobago, Angola, Russia, South Africa, USA, India, Kazakhstan, Mexico, and 7 others...
The first 5 girls were chosen before the show, this time they had a twist they held various events to help chose the first 5 semi finalists and they were as follows, miss top model, miss sports, miss best designer dress and miss charity, and miss talent.

20th World AIDS Day

How much do you really know about AIDS?
Today marks the 20th World AIDS Day and this calls to pause and think and understand what AIDS really is and how much people it's affected throughout the world.
Did you know that 33,2 million people worldwide are living with HIV, and that 2,5 million of them are children? Want more? 1,000 children around the world are infected by HIV every day. That's no small number!
These numbers should be a wake-up call to every single person, no matter where you're living or what your background is, you should be aware of the causes and risks, because not only poor nations or homosexual individuals or drug users are at risk, but you are as well.
Some people in our part of the world; Middle East and North Africa, get offended if they're told to get tested for HIV! The test should become as common as getting a blood test for cholesterol!

atlantis resort fire works

Last night was the opening ceremony of the Jumaira Palm Beach Atlantis Resort in Dubai and what an event it was!
It has been said that this super party will be the most expensive one yet, and it sure was!
In a time when the world is suffering from an economic crisis, this mega-bash cost a whopping $32 million! But who's counting!
Talking about fireworks alone, the spectacular show was bigger and badder than the one in Beijing for The Olympics, this one could be seen from space!
The A-listers that were at the event were no less than super stars, celebrities, VIP's, businessmen, millionaires and billionaires and royalty!
Here's an anecdote of those who where there, Kylie Minogue (who got paid $3 million for a one hour performance), Michael Jordan, Bollywood beauty Priyanka Chopra, Michael Douglas and his wife Catherine Zeta Jones.
