home: Egyptian Singers

Hakim

Singers going into politics seems to be a new fad that seems to be taking the Arab world by surprise. The newest singer gone humanitarian/ politician? Hakim! Yes the singer has been invited by the United Nations to sing at their annual celebration of its setting up in New York. Hakim is not new to making political statement and the most prominent of his gestures was his duo with Don Omar. Hakim who was apparently angered by the treatment of black football players on the French football team decided to perform a song about racism.

Khaled Selim

You see a star on TV and you think that they are humble and pleasant, then they go and do something outrageous and you can never look at them the same. To me Khaled Selim has unfortunately turned out to be one of those stars. It all started when Khaled and his friend businessman Ayman Yaseen were driving down the streets of Egypt and decided that they were above the law and were going to disobey the traffic restrictions.

amr diab

Egyptian singer Amr Diab has always been amazingly successful in everything he does.
He received three American Music Awards and is known as the artist with the biggest foreign fan base. He is also currently filming a movie with the provisional title of ‘El Motamared’ that loosely tells the story of his life. However, does all this make him eligible for the role of ‘Good Will Ambassador’ for the United Nations? Indeed, there has been a lot of talk about Amr’s nomination to take on this specific role, but nothing has been confirmed yet.

Mustapha Amar

Mustafa Amar has been dubbed by many a ‘lost star’, he has tried acting and singing in every genre. Now he has decided to once again ‘change his skin’ if you like and is making an album for children. The idea sounds strangely familiar don’t you think? Well that is because less than a year ago Nancy Ajram came out with an instant hit album that was again for children.

Egyptian singer Tamer Hosny

It is unfortunately common for artists to be blinded by the limelight and forget what is happening around them and hence do very little about it. However, one man who hasn’t forgotten what his country did for him and that there are needy people everywhere is Tamer Hosny. In an attempt to make a change Tamer has decided to go on a tour with the title ‘Bahebek Ya Balady’ which will cover several cities in Egypt, what is special about this tour is that Tamer will make no financial gain from it. Tickets to his concerts will be priced at approximately 5 E.P and all the revenue will be donated to Egyptian charities.

Ruby Dancing

The story of Ruby’s discovery is not news to most people, a few years ago after playing small parts in several movies she was discovered by Sherif Sabri a director who saw in her immense potential. She came in with a boom and was labeled a ‘seductive’ artist with no substance, however, recently she has decided to take her music more seriously and vouched that the days of dressing inappropriately were over.

Mohammed Hamaky

We all enjoyed his second album thoroughly but as he always wants to please his fans Mohammed Hamaky has already begun to work on his next album! This time he and Tarek Madkour have patched things up and decided to work with each other again. You may remember Tarek as the man who discovered the golden voice we know as Hamaky but they argued and decided not to work with each other again and as a result Hamaky’s second album did not contain a single song composed by Tarek.

We don't know for sure where did Tamer Hosny spent last Christmas but looking at these new photos that we have found of Tamer, it seems he spent it with his friends at his place :)!

Enjoy the photos.

shaaban abdelrahim

Egyptian singer Shaaban AbdelRahim has gone on a spiritual trip this year ... he and his wife have gone to The Hajj and have come back to Egypt to changed people.
The new Shaaban AbdelRahim has decided to quit singing ... at least the singing he usually does.

After listening to a few religious lessons during the holy Hajj, he decided to change the type of songs he performs and start singing religious hymns only. But he is also considering the option of stopping singing all in all!
AbdelRahim and his wife told Saudi newspaper ‘Al Madina’ that their Hajj experience was a fantastic one.

Do you think Shaabulla should retire? Or should he just change to religious songs?

Egyptian singer Amr Diab won the World Music Award in Monaco for his new album El Leila Di (Tonight) to become the first Egyptian to win this award 3 times.
He received the award as best-selling Middle Eastern artist in 2007.

These are some photos of Amr Diab receiving his new award and performing on stage during this event which took place 3 days ago.

Angham

According to celebrity news show Mayfoutaksh, which airs on Zoom and Mazzika channels, Egyptian diva Angham has received an invitation to attend the 2007 World Music Awards. She flew from Lebanon on the 2nd of November and is currently in Monaco, home of the awards. This comes amidst speculation of a third win for Amr Diab this year in the show which awards the artist with the highest sales in their respective regions.

Angham was quoted as saying: "Yes, I received an official invitation from the World Music Awards organization, asking me to participate in the event. Although I believe this is just an invitation and has nothing to do with winning, since I know Amr Diab is a possible candidate for the award."

You know that term ‘the past coming back to haunt you’, well, Egyptian star Mohamed Fouad will bear witness to the truth of that phrase. This is because three years later Egyptian courts have delayed his court date to the 31st December. This whole thing started when three years ago Fouad was signed up to go perform a concert in the USA. Obviously, as any normal budding artist would, he eagerly accepted and handed in his passports and the passports of all the members of his band to the American Embassy.

Mohammed Hamaki

All of you will have seen the abundant commercials Nancy Ajram filmed for Coca Cola in addition to the video clip they filmed for her too. Now Mohammed Hamaki is following in her footsteps after he signed a contract for four different commercials this year and a video clip. Hakami had one condition which was that each of the four commercials be filmed in a different place.

Tamer Hosny has finished shooting his latest video clip "Ana Mesh Aref Atghayar" (I don’t know how to change). He shoot the clip at Al Ismailia and Cairo. Tamer new video clip will be airing very soon on music TV channels. You can see from the making off photos of this clip that it’s completely different from tamer’s past clips.
The clip’s story is an original one, which no one has talked about before and which is as far from love stories as can be!
